Don’t think I’ll be returning to Longhorn. I had stopped in for lunch a while back and had some pretty good salmon, and the bleu cheese dressing was absolutely delicious, so I had planned to stop by next time I was in the area at dinner time. Turned out to be a really bad idea, unfortunately. The restaurant wasn’t terribly busy and I was seated right away. The ambiance was relaxing and my server was very pleasant as she took my order. All the steaks were bigger than I wanted, so I went with the sirloin. Now, I realize that sirloin is one of the tougher cuts, but what I received was inedible. When I finally hacked off a very small bite, there just wasn’t any flavor at all. I expect a grilled steak to have a nice, charred taste, but this could have been microwaved for the way it tasted. It really didn’t matter, because I ended up actually spitting it, discreetly, into my napkin. Honestly, I absolutely could not chew it. I will say that the manager came out and offered to cook another one–which I appreciated– but at that point I definitely didn’t want it. I paid my bill and left. Oh, and the baked potato tasted as if it had been left over from lunch. No doggie bag necessary!
