I’ve been twice and had excellent food and service both times. Ashley and Ariel are great servers. Had shrimp appetizer both times! Tuna entree and bacon wrapped shrimp. Both were perfectly prepared. This place might be my new favorite except for their wine list was the highest priced in town. Love having wine with dinner but I don’t want to pay $20 more per bottle than every where else.
An Idea That Just Doesn’t Work. This recently opened restaurant in Downtown Knoxville is a sight for sore eyes. The mix of old brick and fancy chandeliers is really enchanting as a visually interesting dining spot. Unfortunately, the concept of the limited menu (five entrees, five appetizers, etc) is not that interesting and needs some serious tweeking. The five choices (currently-chicken, fish, burger, shrimp, and steak) are way too limited and limiting, particularly when the prices are on the definite high end of the range for what is essentially southern comfort food. $26 for stuffed shrimp? The cuisine quality that I encountered was good, but it does not justify that kind of uncomfortable pricing for what is merely a pleasant experience. And, there are no other choices for those not wanting heavy southern-style caloric dining. The big problem I see is that the management may be in some kind of culinary bubble. Their other locations in the Deep South have possibly led them to believe that the rest of the U.S. wants that kind of food and is naive enough to pay those prices.
