What am I missing. Had lunch at the Chipotle Mexican Grill on Parkside Drive. First off the music was so loud that my lunch partner and I couldn’t have a conversation. 2nd–who wants to eat at tables set up like a cafeteria with strangers sitting right next to you listening to every word being ‘yelled’ at to you lunch date..not me. The food was ‘ok’ Very limited menu. No queso dip offered. Salsa was terrible….just some chopped tomatoes and cilantro. The meat was of poor quality and tasted old. I had the shredded beef. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
Hands down the best place to build a burrito in town.
The Upscale Build-A-Burrito Place. So Chipotle is one of the many build your burrito place (Blue Coast Burrito, Moes’, etc). One would think that all these places would be the same, but you would be wrong. My colleagues and I would eat at this place about once every two weeks. The Atmosphere: Loud and crowded best describes it. It’s crowded and loud because it’s so small. I think there are only 4-6 tables. The other dining area is set up like a bar with stationary stools and a long table. I think it would be fair to say it probably could only seat 40-50 people at the max. Other than struggling to find enough seats for your party, there’s really nothing else to say.The Food:Now this is why we kept coming back. The thing that separates this build-a-burrito place from the others is the ingredients. They are all prepared in-house. The meats are cooked right in front of you, so you know that they are all fresh. I think it has the best guacamole I have tasted. All of its sauces are so fresh; I’m not exaggerating when I say that you can taste their freshness. They are not afraid to pack your plate or your burrito until its overflowing. One entree here will easily span two meals.Their chips have a hint of lime in them, so they have their own unique flavor. They have a variety of Tabasco sauces to choose from as well. The only downside I have found is price. One entree without a drink will set you back about $8-9. Guacamole, unfortunately, is $1.80 extra on top of that.Final Word:Best build-your-burrito place around. Beats all the others hands down. The freshness of their food can’t be beat. If you are coming in at lunch time, you may have a tough time finding a seat.
