Disappointing order. A few weeks ago I visited Cru with my brother who was in from out of town. We made a special effort to visit Cru as I had been there before and really enjoyed it. Since it was mid afternoon we only ordered light lunches. I order the Crab Bruschetta. I write now because it has brothered me every since. There was LESS than a tablespoon of crab meat on all three of the bruschettas COMBINED. They were full of chopped tomotoes!! I was soo disappointed I could not even complain at the time. After we left, I asked my brother how much my order was he said $12.00 Unbelievable!! I may give Cru another try. I just wanted them to know they don’t need to be serving this kind of food at this price. If they were out of crab meat I would have appreciated being told that instead of the poor serving I received. Hope they have improved as I would not like to see them close.

They have very friendly service. During my second visit last night we had an exceptional server named Lauren. She took the time to ask the kitchen about certain ingredients. When we wanted to be daring and try a new dish it backfired and we didn’t like it at all. Lauren was kind enough to take it off the bill without us even asking, we definitely weren’t expecting that at all. It has a laid back atmosphere and is great if you want to try something new. Most of the things we had were super delicious. Great staff!

Favorite downtown restaurant. My husband and I moved downtown a few months ago and have been eating our way through Knoxville’s plentiful restaurants. We have enjoyed most of them, and the Cru Bistro is our number one choice. We love their hamburgers, which are the best we have found. The pizzas are wonderful too, and there are so many special deals on food and drink–something to look for every day of the week. My favorite brunch is the French toast breakfast sandwich, which is truly amazing. The service is great and the staff is so friendly–they make us feel special every time we go there. Try it–you’ll love it too!

I don’t just like Cru, Love Cru!! Reasonably priced bottles of decent wine and friendly servers. Emily was so on the ball, knowledgeable and fun. And this is the biggest deal: the Cru Americana burger (substitute Boursin) cooked rare was the BEST burger I’ve EVER had. It’s only $12 to begin with but on Wednesdays, that same burger is only 5 bucks!! College town benefit! It’s located in Old Town, near the UT campus. Charm Galore!!

I don’t always write reviews, but when I do, it involves one of the most interesting bartenders in the world. Andreas took excellent care of us, all the while being very fun and informative. The food was great and atmosphere very enjoyable. Really happy this place is downtown.

Nice Dining Experience. Went to Cru downtown the Fri before father’s day with my daughter. Had an amazing time. Our server, Lew. Was one of the most professional I’ve had. She was very knowledgeable and made suggestions that suited us perfectly. The bacon scallops were divine and the burger sliders went over exceptionally well with my young one. Can’t believe the quality of food and service for the price. I’ll definitely be returning when I’m in the Knoxville area!

Ate here a few nights ago with a friend and had an awesome time! Great burgers, great prices…Tuesday night happy hour is the best! Our server was attentive and friendly and made some excellent recommendations. Also, one of the managers, Chris, stopped by to check on our meal. Very friendly, very knowledgable and quite obviously a great part of a fantastic restaurant! I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to eat in downtown Knoxville.
