Although we have tried, we simply don’t care for this place. In my experience this is one of the most over rated places in the Knoxville area for a couple of reasons. First, for BBQ it is very expensive and they aren’t shy about it. Second, the quality of the food does not match the price. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else.
Sadly Dissapointed. I heard a lot about this place and I was excited to try the BBQ. I had a pulled pork sandwich. I don’t know where to start. I saw no pink on the meat which would indicate that It was actually smoked, It was extremely dry, and the sauce was not the best. I hoped for so much more. I guess I will continue to cook my own BBQ.
Disappointed. Had Sunday lunch there today. We both had the combination plates with brisket and sausage. Sides were Mac/cheese, southern green beans, greens and beans-sausage. Sides were ok but the meats on both plates were served cold. The brisket had no smoke flavor and the sausage tasted just like Hillshire Farms and had no smoke flavor. We were very disappointed.

So-so BBQ. The BBQ at this restaurant is average. Hostess was pleasant, waitress was very in attentive. Watch your credit card receipt, they automatically added a 20% gratuity to my bill. Due to the less than average service from the waitress I would have offered maybe 15%.
Finger lickin’ good. 5 stars!. As I scroll the reviews on this page I see a lot of comments about tasteless foods or over bland renditions of favorite barbeque staples. All is a farce; Dead End delivers quality, gourmet, scrumptious meats (try the brisket burnt ends or even pulled pork) some top notch side items (mac n pimento cheese, sweet potato waffle fries, southern cooked mixed greens) and one hell of a banana pudding (better than your grandma’s banana pudding) and peanut butter pie. From sauce to sides, apps to fries, this place has everything in place to serve as an emporium of flavor and quality barbeque. MUST TRY!
