First for me with Ethiopian food but I love trying new things and this was pleasant. The food was hot fresh and very delicious. All the wonderful spices jumble up on my tastebuds and said mmmmm! The lamb, beef, and chicken all great but I could see myself just enjoying some of the vegetarian dishes as a main meal. That’s saying a lot from this carnivore. If I could spell or pronounce the little roll up bread you use for utensils I’d tell you how that experience added to the ambiance of the feast and was just plain tasty. Fresh well flavored food I would gladly eat again. The waitress was super helpful and friendly for a first time dinner and didn’t lead us astray. I would also add the spiced hot tea jazzed and blended of all the flavor. I would highly recommend for a nice dinner date or if you just want something different.
I’ve dined-in here several times and taken out many times. If you like Ethiopian food, you’ve probably already been and love it. If not, and you like Indian or Middle Eastern, give it a try. They have vegetarian dishes as well as chicken, beef, and lamb. If you have several people or agroup, the combination platters are great alternatives. I like their injera (the special somewhat crepe-like bread/pancake used to dip/grab the various other items). Theirs seems almost like a sourdough version of injera, compared to some others I have tried in other cities. The restaurant itself is fairly small, and very simply appointed, but cozy enough, and the chefs and staff are always wonderful. The Doro Wat (bone-in chicken) is probably my favorite item, but I look forward to them all:)
