Great food. This place has really good food. It is by far the best bbq I have had in Knoxville. I highly recommend getting the french fries as they are hand cut style and really good. The beans are good if you want something different than your normal super sugary beans, they are kind of texas/steakhouse style with little bits of green pepper and onion in them. Sometimes the couple that owns the place argues and while sometimes it is funny it can be awkward at times so be prepared for that possibility. Overall if you are on alcoa hwy you should definitely stop in and give this place a go.
Great BBQ. This family owned BBQ joint is a little out of the way but well worth the drive. Everything I have eaten there is well above average! You’ll be glad you came.
Great spot. Super friendly owners and awesome food.
Good place to eat. We also saw the restaurant review on Channel 10 and decided to try it out. Don’t be turned off by the location. It is located in an old convenience mart/gas station, but it is very clean, and the food is great. We had the BBQ, beans and slaw at a very reasonable price. We said to one another that this BBQ is the only one we have eaten that compares to Buddy’s. The beans were not particulary our favorite, but we just didn’t care for the ingredients. Try them, you may love them. Sometimes it is fun just to try a new place, adds some excitement to your meal. We both said that we would like to go back, and plan to do that. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and show that they appreciate your business. We have tried other restaurants featured on Channel 10, and they have been BAD! Connie’s on Chapman Hwy is a prime example of BAD food.
Hometown BBQ that’s EZ to LOVE!. Wife and I dropped in here to try their BBQ after seeing Ken Schwall do a spot on this place. Love the local, hometown, friendly atmosphere. We tried the BBQ sandwich, slaw and beans. Very good BBQ sandwich and slaw; beans were average. Hushpuppies were absolutely great! Didn’t get to try their famous ‘nanner pudding but did get a brownie and it was as good as any I’ve ever had at a restaurant; very moist and flavorful. And we loved the couple that run the place. Sooo friendly and helpful. Makes us wanna go back and visit again. And I definitely wanna try their BBQ Bologna Sandwich! Sounds like health food to me!
Good stuff. The price is right and the food is good.tater salad and cole slaw is very good.the owners are the workers and do it well.family place.
Best BBQ You Can Buy, Make or Get Anywhere. You’ve got to try this place. If the atmosphere and friend faces don’t get you to come back, the food will definitely get a second visit.I have now tried everything on the menu and found nothing, not one thing that I would not order again. This is a family owned business and they are thankful for every costumer and treat them (us) all the same. I am truly blessed to have met them and have had the opportunity to enjoy their, friendship and the great food.No matter what you order, be sure to try the Hush-puppies and ask for a sample of the Tater Salad. I am sure you will find it irresistible, as well as everything else they have :)They hand make everything, lemonade, tea, deserts, and of course all the regular food as well. If you get lucky you’ll have an opportunity to visit with some of the regulars and you’ll see why this place makes you feel right at home. They even hand pull the pork. This means they don’t throw it in the grinder with all the other stuff, so you get only the leanest pork. These folks support the South Knoxville community and so many ways and we are truly blessed to have such great food and folks right in our own back yard.Going out of town you will find them on the right, just before the underpass at 1901 Maryville Pike.Your gonna Love That BBQ 🙂
