This used to be THE place for cakes and cupcakes. Their buttercream was so good. When the expanded and moved further down Central, they rapidly became average. The icing doesn’t taste very good any more. It’s just average now with above average prices. Skip it.
Disappointing. We went to Magpies last year for my daughter’s birthday cake and got the red velvet which we loved. So we decided to do it again this year for her sweet sixteen cake and we went with the classic chocolate. Although it was a beautiful cake, it really wasn’t very tasty. In fact, one of her friends came up to her and said it was gross which really hurt because we wanted this to be special for her and the cake was $50. So needless to say we were disappointed. We would go there again but maybe try something different next time.
