My favorite restaurant in Knoxville by far! Every dish I’ve had is over the top good. My favorite hands down is the braised short ribs pasta. The best I’ve ever had. Its not on the spring menu but sure hope it comes back for the summer or fall.
Finally… a 5-star restaurant (without the 5-star price tag) in downtown Knoxville! Not only is the restaurant absolutely gorgeous, it’s located right on Market Square (and even has a great patio!) so there’s ample opportunity to soak up the vibe of the area. In a town where Southern cuisine reigns supreme, it’s nice to have a local place that offers such an extensive and beautiful array of dishes—from duck to ramen; in other words, there are plenty of options while still covering the classics. I’ve eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. The food rivals (and even outdoes) anything I’ve had in major metropolitan areas with a popular food scene. I’m thankful Knoxville has a place where you can get delicious and inventive meals, amazing cocktails (seriously… go for it! I just tell them what I like and they always recommend and deliver with a twist!), good service and great vibe. Oliver Royale is where it’s at.

The cocktails are to die for! The food is Devine! The atmosphere is magical! Perfect spot for date night, girls night or professional dinner. My favorite spot on market square hands down!
Really incredible dinner menu paired with awesome crafted cocktails and a nifty atmosphere. This is a recent but wonderful addition to the downtown restaurant scene.
I ate there for the first time yesterday late afternoon; still on the lunch menu. After some initial confusion about placing my order I had a pleasant meal consisting of a Winter Greens salad (NOT a wintergreen salad), a plate of Plutanesca and coffee. The salad (kale, I assume) was excellent. The Plutanesca was of special interest as, I was told, they make all their own pasta. It was quite good, with some ingredient I was afraid was bacon, crunchy and smoky, but was reassured it was not. Very good, perhaps a little more oily than I’d have preferred. But the highlight of the meal was the coffee, perhaps the best I’ve ever had, roasted and processed, as it happens, right here in Knoxville by a new firm called Three Bears. Decor, featuring four framed, silvered mirrors was a bit insipid; the music fell just short of bubble gum, though I don’t know what I’d have preferred. My own choice would be classical, but, no doubt, that would chase some diners away.
Wishing the staff at Oliver Royale much success on their recent opening. The decor, food, and service are tremendous and they will make a wonderful addition to Market Square
