Inexpensive, adorable, and delicious. Small, local shop with great coffee. The service was fast and the employees were friendly. I ordered gypsy soup and it was delicious. Bill was super cheap. Loved it.
Atmosphere. Although the coffee and pastries are pretty good, what keeps one coming back is the cozy, inviting, intellectual atmosphere. It seems as if this cafe has dropped right out of our favorite crime novels, or perhaps it was displaced from an undiscovered French alleyway. A real treasure. Writers and artists, behold your muse.
Loved it, salads, soup, sandwiches.Cozy and intelligent.
Best coffee in the campus area. The coffee is worth the short walk off campus, and the inviting cafe atmosphere is enough to make you want to stay a while. Coffee across the menu is consistently good. The baked goods seem to vary in quality though they’re generally good. There is also a fair amount of seating, but it is a place that is often busy.
Best Coffee in Knoxville. Golden Roast has a great environment and even better coffee. The environment is quiet enough to get work done, but not so oppressive that you can’t talk and laugh with friends.
Excellent-quality coffee. The coffee served at the Golden Roast is delicious and flavorful without any odd, bitter aftertaste so common among lesser-quality coffees. The atmosphere is pleasant, great for studying or having a quiet chat with a friend.
In the midst of it all, but beyond it all. Nestled between UT’s campus and the commercial tedium of the Strip, the Golden Roast invites you to cozy up with a cup of Fair Trade coffee and a toasted bagel and remember the world beyond the big orange. Eavesdrop on conversations about Sartre and existentialism while Indie songsters provide a soundtrack to your studying. Cheers to caffeine and great company!
