Terrible food and terrible hybrid service/self service model. They charge sit down restaurant prices, but you get your own fountain drinks and the server takes your order with an Ipad and you are expected to prepay for your food. Very odd, something you dont see in Knoxville. My omelette was terrible, dry and lacked flavor. No doubt Kendra Maples could have made one bettter at home. Some of the wait staff was seedy looking and was standing around blocking the aisle to the drink fountain chatting. I doubt seriously this place will make it long term unless they improve the food quality and lower the prices. Not sure who is running this place but they could use a good chef! Didn’t bother complaining to management as I have no intention on returning.
Gotta admit interesting fare. Prices are decent. Staff is prompt at the register and cheerful to boot. Sad it’s only open for breakfast and lunch. They are good and definitely worth a repeat visit. The location helps with local business people in all those office jobs.
I feel Trio is overlooked during the dinner hour. We had great food, the turkey, guacamole panini was probably the best panini I’ve ever eaten. Service was good. We would definitely eat there again.
Below average! Average service. Actually, no service really. Tasted like McDonald’s burger and fries. Seat yourself, pay before you eat!
Great place!!!! Updated with fresh and exciting cashiers!!!!. Trio Cafe has recently undergone some great renovations!!!! When we visited they had recently gone through updating their service to compete with modern restaurants all while keeping the environment inviting, and casual! They have floating cashiers (that is what one employee called themselves), that come to the table and take your order on little iPad type tablets. They send your order straight to the kitchen from the tablet, and then cash you out right at the table!!!! It’s so quick and easy! The drinks are all self- serve, so you don’t get lost in the hustle bustle of busy servers. When you need a refill, you can just hop up and quickly fill you drink. Which my son loved because he’s 16, and can drink half gallons of beverages at time. They are reasonably priced and had lots of options. They are putting in a full service bar which they said should be open by the end of January! With all the closurea happening on market sqaure it is nice to know there is still a great thriving restaurant that has great service, with smiley employees and happy music and yummy food! I definitely recommend!
If you are going to have a cafe line to order at least turn on your ac. Just got stuck in line, in a cramped hallway, with ten sweaty people because the owner it’s apparently to cheap to turn on the ac.it took them 15 minutes to take two peoples order while people keep getting packed in a small area. Just wonder who it’s sweating in the food.
