The overall charm of Franklin made my memory of Merridee’s even better. To start, the coffee was great! They had a nice assortment of baked goods and we sampled the chocolate pound cake and Key Lime pie.The cake was decent, but the best part was the bites with icing. The Key Lime pie was great, but the Key Lime overpowered the taste. I loved the crust, though, and it was nice to eat out on the sidewalk, in the afternoon.I would send anyone here for a good afternoon or morning splurge.

Tonight my sister and brother-in-law traveled into Franklin TN (this town reminded me of Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls). We decided to try Merridee’s Bread Basket for dinner. We arrived about 7:30 pm on Saturday night and went up to the counter to order. I chose the french dip, chicken tortilla soup and an iced tea. My sister and brother-in-law both ordered the Monte Cristo and pasta salad. We had a seat and they brought our food out fairly quickly. Both sandwiches were excellent. The Monte Cristo was actually made with french toast and was a perfect balance of ingredients. The french dip and chicken tortilla soup were very good as well. We highly enjoyed our dinner in this quirky bakery/sandwich shop.
