The atmosphere at El Rey Azteca is nothing if not colorful! Lots of bright festive colors adorn the dinning area with very nice wall murals, chairs & tables which depict a happy and beautiful culture and traditional Mexican decor such as sombreros. The service is likewise excellent with the waiter that we had being very prompt and responsive to any all our requests. Everyone was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. The quality of the food was very good as well and because I couldn’t decide when it came time to order, I ended up trying both the Super Combination (a chalupa, a taco, a chile relleno, a tamale, an enchilada, Mexican rice and refried beans) and Beef Chimichanga (which comes with more Mexican rice & refried beans). It sounds scary but I actually finished everything! When it comes to any of the above mentioned items, I would recommend any of them, but I have to say that the Chimichanga was the most tasty item that I tried. We had planned to try both the Flan and the Sopapilla for the deserts, but alas we were both too full to continue. Next time… and there will be a next time very soon. 🙂

Gallatin Staple. What El Rey lacks is authenticity, it makes up for in decor, service and price.Don’t get me wrong, the food is always exceptional, I’ve been eating here my whole life. But it’s not traditional mexican food. Fajita Quesadilla is probably my favorite. Always fresh, but very quick. My friend and I eat here about once every week. You’ll always be greeted with an enthuastic smile at the door!

Great Food and Cozy. Our family loved the food and cozy atmosphere. Prices were pocketbook friendly too.

Fantastic Service/Salsa. El Rey Azteca is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. I have eaten at El Rey’s for about 7 years and I compare other restaurants to this one. The service is impeccable. You are always greeted when you walk in and your food is ready before you even come in the door! (Figuratively speaking.)I would definitely recommend this restaurant to newcomers or visitors.

More of the same. This place is essentially like most other Tex-Mex restaurants in the United States. They all taste pretty much the same and have nearly identical menus. I will give El Rey kudos for having a very clean restaurant and very colorful, lively decor. The food was also plated very carefully and cleanly, unlike most places that more or less throw the food together on the plate. All in all, a good choice if you want Tex-Mex, not if you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine.
