A big disappointment. We have eaten at this specific Japanese Steakhouse in the past and haven’t been too impressed but felt like since we were in the area we would give it another try. I have to say I wish we had gone elsewhere, especially since there are several other Japanese Steakhouses in the area that are nicer. And believe me the difference was night and day. Our last visit was horrible. We got there and they got us seated only to move us to a different hibachi table, we had to request menus, and the waitress was not very friendly and didn’t seem happy to be there. However I did find it interesting that there was Christian Music playing in the background and I thought to myself well that was a nice thing to hear on a Sunday afternoon. Well things went from bad to worse. Our 4 year old child unexpectedly got scared by the Onion Volcano and to make matters worse the chef laughed at her and started to squirting her with a highly inappropriate water toy (a little boy who’s pants comes down and it pees). She was highly upset and embarrassed and didn’t understand why the chef was being so mean to her. That was the straw the broke the camels back. It was bad enough that he sprayed my child with water but it was worse that he sprayed her with such an inappropriate little water toy and laughed about it the whole time. There was such a lack of professionalism at this establishment. At this point we had an upset child, we paid our bill and took our food to go (Which was sub par compared to others in the area), however I waited around to speak with the manager who showed no remorse for what his chef did and completely stood behind his chef. Because of this experience we will not be returning to this establishment and I feel that the Hibachi Steakhouse experience has been ruined for my child, who has always loved the hibachi steakhouses. This specific establishment is not a family friendly establishment so if you have kids, my advice is to look elsewhere. There are several in the Nashville area that far exceed the service and food this one has to offer.
Love this restaurant. spice rice and sushi is delisious.
Food not very good…… We’ve been there twice now, and both times wasn’t very good. Yesterday we were there with a few others. They always seem to run out of food by the time they serve the last person. For example; when they start serving the veggies, the portions get smaller, and smaller by the time they get to the last person. My wife and I both had shrimp and scallops. We received 3 little scallops, and about 6 small shrimp. The sea food was way too salty from swimming in the large amounts of soy sauce. Food was terrible, service was fair. We definitely wont go there again. We’ll go back to Kabutos in goodlettsville. Alittle more expensive, but great food and you won’t leave hungry!
Koi is Back!!. I had posted a negative review of this restaurant but they have cleaned up their act. We have been at Koi three times in the last couple of months and their service and food are once again excellent. I would recommend them.
I really loved eating there. The sushi was good and the staff has always friendly.
Used to be great!. I used to love this restaurant. But it seems as of late, the waitresses don’t care, the cooks aren’t as good, and and the service is horrible. They have such a high turn over rate with employees that they are always hiring, and for whatever reason they continue to hire young girls who seem to care more about talking to the other waitresses than they do about their job. I think Koi could go back to it’s part awesomeness if they would stop scooping the bottom of the barrell and hiring whoever applies.
