Great food. May take a bit, but you can take a glance in the kitchen and watch them work. Don’t be put off by its surroundings – the best Latin/Mexican places are often hidden in markets or gas stations. It’s such an unexpected surprise for this area, but we make a point to visit every year we’re here and I always end up ordering more than I can eat in one sitting because everything is so good.
Wonderfully fresh and authentic. Don’t be fooled by the modest exterior and adjacent market. The food here is fabulously simple, fresh and authentic. We stumbled into the market one morning looking for milk and were enchanted by the scent of cooking corn tortillas. I knew I’d return to eat. Bisteca Huaraches arrived in a plump, tasty corn jacket stuffed with tender beef, avocado and white cheese. Lime arrived on the side and tableside accompaniments (chopped white onion, fresh cilantro and homemade salsas) enchanced, but did not overpower, the riot of flavor. No bland, fattening sauces to hide anything here; you get the real deal. My companions consumed their bisteca burritos. Apparently the corn enchiladas are dipped in homemade special salsa, then grilled. Our family of four eat for around $30, including three Mexican beers and one ice tea. Get past the nondescript surroundings because the food takes a starring role … unless you like the greasy tasteless, over-sauced mess at most Americanized Mexican restaurants.
