We visit Gatlinburg every year with friends and I’ve almost given up on finding good food there. We tried Howard’s on our last trip and I was pleasantly surprised. It has a very cute, small tavern type bar when you walk in. We sat in the back next to the window that overlooks the patio and creek. It was rather charming. It was very dark, almost too dark because we had a lot of trouble reading our menus. I’m thinking it was probably a good thing that it was dark. We had great, friendly service. The music that night was great and we all had a wonderful time. Perhaps it was the company or the fact that it was our first night on vacation or the drinks but we had fun there. We tried a few different cocktails and ordered a few appetizers, steak, and salads. It was good by Gatlinburg standards, nothing to write home about but good for Gatlinburg. Everyone enjoyed the meal and it was fun to people watch the folks on the patio. It’s also dog friendly out there so that was fun to watch. We would certainly go back.
Firstly, let me say the food was excellent. The service, however, deserves a ZERO. We waited a long time to be seated when there were open tables, our server didn’t check up on us after we placed our orders. I ordered a beer after being seated, never received it, and have to ask for service from the bartender (who happened to be manager-on-duty). If you want excellent food but don’t mind slow, inattentive service, this is your place. Otherwise, stick to a chain.
Absolute worst service and terrible food . Ordered appetizers onion rings soggy , Had 2 menus for Christmas waiter had no clue what was available. We were seated for 10 minutes before I had to go ask for a server , then when he came to our table he was aggravated to be bothered. Food was either way over cooked or practically raw. We could over here other tables also complaining.
My first time in Gatlinburg and a local referred me and my fianc to this restaurant. It’s locally owned and operated, which is always a plus for us. We sat outside on the patio by the creek and had the filet and ribs, both very good! This place has a great home-like atmosphere and we both enjoyed our visit and meals, we will be back next year! Ps-there is a raccoon that has made itself a home in the creek, and it’s much fun for all to watch!
Swiss Burger. Yum05 Mar, 2015The burgers are awesome!. Our family had 3 different kinds of burgers they were great and filling. Clint was our server ……he was awesome!! Ask to sit in the back with the creek view. Will be back next time for sure!
Great. My wife and I celebrated our 5 th anniversary with the Steak house. Very good food very friendly staff as my wife decorated the table with some of our picture’s . Very cool place
So glad we gave this place a try. My wife and I both had burgers and they were the best we’ve had for a very long time. The cordon bleu burger was awesome!! The house made dressings sure help with that. Service was great and super friendly. Would definitely visit here again.
