My Husband and I had dinner there tonight. It was Fantastic! ! We thought the decor and ambience was quaint, casual, comfortable. It had rained and gotten chilly out and they had a fire going. The service was Great! The waitresses was the Owner’s Daughter. She was so friendly, out-going, and knowledgeable about the New Orleans cuisine since they are from New Orleans. Her Grandmother does the cooking. Very down home, authentic. The food was Fabulous! ! We tried the shrimp etoufee, jambalaya, and gumbo. The food was served Hot as it should be, fresh, and so flavorful! You could taste all the creole seasonings. It was Fantastic to eat in a place not afraid to use seasoning! Hate bland food! We will definitely go back! Our BEST meal in Gatlinburg!
For the most part very good food with some exceptions. Service was lackluster, in fact, another party got up and left and you could see other parties in including us looking around wondering when the food would arrive. They weren’t very busy. Food arrives very, and I mean very, hot – you will burn your mouth. Perhaps, the kylstron in the microwave needs adjustment. Once it cooled down to non-injurious levels, most of the food of our party of 10 was good, but not fantastic. The muffelata was very strange – olive salad was an option (?) and there wasn’t very much on it. Seating is a bit cramped.
Best poboy outside of Louisiana. Great food and service every time. Best roast beef poboy
Thomas dubya. We went to New Orleans Sandwich Co on 12/21/14 after a really good experience several years ago and reading the current reviews.Well, the folks that gave a poor to terrible rating are right on the money.I got the Red beans and rice, which I ordered a few years ago,and by wife got the jamboli.I n a nut shell, save your moneyThe red beans and rice were pasty and looked and tasted old.Very little flavor. The jamboli was thick and dry and unedible. My wife had to order something else. The pot roast sandwich was dry and barely edible. The servers were teenage girls who gave poor service and didn’t give a hoot whether or not we were given good service or not.The owners daughter was in charge but had the same attitude. It’s not like they were busy—-there were few customers. The last shock was at checkout. How does two $8.00 meals plus become $26.00?My advice:Skip this poorly run, awful service, and inedible food and go to a name brand restaurant. The origional owners should be ashamed of what this restaurant has become.
Best Meal We Had In Gatlinburg. My wife and I searched a long time to find a decent restaurant in Gatlinburg. After three bad meals, we found that New Orleans Sandwich Company. Best meal we had in Gatlinburg. We had Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice, and Oyster Po-Boy. All served fast by a friendly waiter. I would definitely go back. The food tasted like the food I have had many times in the City of New Orleans. No surprise, since the owners and staff are from NO.
Crab cakes hot on outside, cold on inside. possibly frozen? served with a gnat fluttering on top of one
Great Little Place with Authentic Cajun Cuisine. My husband and I were told to visit this place from another vendor on the Parkway. It’s a quaint little restaurant with lots of atmosphere – very New Orleans. we had the gumbo and the red beans and rice – both were really good. Plus you get a lot of food for a low price. Easily better than Bubba Gumps. I highly recommend it.
