The turtles are amazing. We stopped by today and got taffy, suckers for the kids, and some turtles. Haven’t tried the other two items, but the turtles are amazing. The pecans tasted so fresh.

FUN time watching the Old Fashioned Taffy Machines. One of the things that I think of 1st when I think of Gatlinburg is watching the old fashioned taffy machines in the windows of the candy kitchens. The Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen has 2 locations. This one is OK, but I prefer the one located next to the Village (adds to the charm of theshop). I love stopping here just to watch the candy machines at work wrapping the taffy. Also, we LOVE the chocolates. The White Pecan Bark is my favorite–YUM! My husband loves the Rapberry Jellies. We also like that you can by the candy by the piece. You can buy as little or as much as you like! Also, we LOVE that they mark right on the product case–which items are made in house! The place can get crowded, but they are pretty good and moving the line quickly. Plus, the little boxes of taffy they sell make wonderful souveniers for people back home. AND you can purchase a bear bottle of local honey too. This place is definately worth a stop—the chocolates are amazing. Besides, the taffy machines are fun to watch & will probably create a memory of a lifetime in an instant!
A Gatlinburg Institution. Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen is a great place to buy home made candy. Whether it’s candy apples, fudge, taffy, or almost anything covered in chocolate, you have to stop by when in Gatlinburg. It’s also a good place to take a break. If you time it right, you may catch them making or wrapping taffy. Always fun for the kids.
