Neat little place!. After a morning of walking trails in Greenbriar , we stopped off at Whole Earth for an alternative to the not-quite-as-healthy cuisine we’d been enjoying during our Gatlinburg vacation. The lunch prices were very fair, especially compared to other eateries near the Parkway. The dining area is quaint, as Whole Earth is primarily a grocery/supply store. Ideal place for a couple to enjoy a quiet lunch, though our group of 7 did just fine. The food was great! Really tasty chicken salad sandwiches there! Beverages are selected from the cooler, and there are many to chose from. Jan Brady (yes) was very attentive and hospitable, ensuring we had a pleasant lunch. To top it off, we left with a few low-priced antiques. (One-fourth the price we were used to back home.)When we return to Gatlinburg, Whole Earth will definitely be on the agenda.
What was that?. After reading some good to very good reviews on Whole Earth Grocery our fearless FrankNbeans crew dropped by to see what all the talk was about. The deli/restaurant is located within the small grocery store and only seats about 10. The lunch menu was limited so our group checked out the chicken salad wraps which all the reviews we read seemed to be ga-ga about. Some of us had pasta salad with our wrap and some had purple chips. The pasta salad contained some sort of visible herb but was not very bold in flavor, possibly it was oregano, but it was chilled and seemed firm and fresh. The chicken salad wraps also had lettuce (romain) but was a bit short on the chicken salad and left me with large pieces of bread and lettuce with no chick salad on about the final 2 inches of each wrap. What stayed with me the most about Whole Earth Grocery was the herb taste I burped all afternoon until I made my way to the chemist for some relief. This does not make Frank feel good about Whole Earth Grocery. The price alone makes it not a good value, the ingredients are not premium to justify the price and the atmosphere is zero. One other member of the FrankNbeans party also needed a bicarb to stop the never ending herb burp, and that’s 2 out of 3 people and that gets Whole Earth Grocery a thumbs down. Eat here at your own risk, at least until Whole Earth Grocery decides to up their game.

One of a kind. This store is truly one of a kind. Luckily we were able to find quite a few items in the grocery store that were vegetarian friendly. We also found some bath salt and candles which added to our much needed relaxation. The lunch menu is a healthy alternative to many of the other local establishments.
