Our Dining Experience. We had a party of about 17 people come in for dinner last night. We were the only large party there. There actually wasn’t many small parties there! We ordered our food at 6:45 and did not get it until 8:30! Our waitress was terrible! My husband had to ask for sweet tea several times, and most everyone else’s glasses were empty most of the time! After our appetizers, the table was filled with dirty dishes that needed to be cleaned off before our meals arrived. We often eat here, and have never had a bad experience before! But after last night, I doubt we go back. I’d rather spend $800 at a place that has better and faster service!
Grumpy3625. I had lunch with friends at Mr B’s. Even though it’s been at that location forever a few people had a problem finding it and had to go through a maze to get to it. The person I rode with knew where it was so we had no problem. We had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer along with fried pickles. The tomatoes came with a shrimp on top as a garnish that sat on a dab of rmoulade sauce, but it was uneventful; the batter was too thick and the green tomato taste was absolutely lost in it. Fried green tomatoes supposed to be a delicate batter, teasing acidic tasting, country cooking delight but not at Mr. B’s. For the main course I had a bowl of crawfish etouffee. This did not disappoint me: it had an ample amount of crawfish in it with good flavor which did not overpower and it was filling. We sat in a separate small room from the main dining area and we had friendly and efficient service. I will go back and try the soft shell crab po boy before giving it a thumbs up or down.
Slow, Slow, and more Slow. It is really a shame that the dinner service here is such a mess. Maybe it is he kitchen. Whatever it is, it has almost ruined my meal every time I have eaten here.I really like the fried shrimp, and the onion rings, but not enough to endure the really bad service.
Nasty is the word and not worth it. I never understood ! hell, just go to Picadillyat least you know you’re getting lunchroom food therePASSMemphis….whew
Love Mister B’s for Lunch. I don’t know what’s with all the negative reviews of Mister B’s. I have been to lunch there several times and it has always been excellent! I don’t agree that it’s ‘dark and dingy’. Yes, it may be a little dark like a warm, cozy pub atmosphere but not dingy. My boss got me hooked years ago when he would treat some of his employees for lunch. I love the vegetable plates, the pork chops, and the celestial chicken + two veggie lunch specials are always good. Service may be a little slow, but that’s usually to be expected in Memphis, unfortunately. People need to lighten up a little.
Awesome steaks!!!! Big, juicy and made to perfection!!! The chicken strips and the fried mushrooms are nice. My only complaint is that they only offer mashed potatoes during lunch only – never during dinner. Not sure why?
Disappointing. Now I remember why I have not been to Mr. B’s in a long time, and for sure will not be going back. I spent $81 and something for three of us, with no alcohol, and all of us went away totally unsatisfied. Two of us ordered soft shell crab. Could not find any crab meat at all on any of them, but lots and lots of breading. When I mentioned something to the waitress about it, she said she could bring me another one, not sure how that could resolve anything. Ninety percent of the menu is fried, and all in the same batter. One of us ordered the seafood platter, which again comes all fried. I will say the sweet potato and green beans were very good.
