Went here to grab lunch to go and the lady who took my order was very rude and short. Seemed irritated that I hadn’t already called in my order. Didn’t seem like she wanted my business… I got an order of falafel, small salad and spanakopita and it was $15… ridiculous! Way too pricy for lunch. The food was okay, my order was ready quickly so that was good. But I think they gave me hummus for the sauce on my falafel. The spanakopita was chewy. The falafel balls were too big. I won’t be going back. I’d rather have Casablanca or Kasbah in Cordova.

Not the complete Greek experience. I tried the Petra Caf at Poplar and Kirby. Its decent enough. But the ambiancerather lack of itis ill-suited for the upscale clientele that surrounds Petra. Even worse, the restaurant does not feel Greek. Overall, Petra looks and feels like a cheap deli. Boring and cheap. The outdoor seating area is merely the sidewalk next to a parking space. I was also disappointed with the irregular (and constantly changing) hours as well. The food tasted authentic and fresh. But the main course was not heated completely thru. Inexcusable since there were only 2 other patrons in the dining room and 3 chefs in the kitchen. Food should never be sent out cold. Despite the oversight, the waitress was quick to remedy the situation even bringing out new utensils. Despite its shortcomings, I will try Petra again if only because I enjoy Greek cuisine. But it isnt a place I would ever bring clients. Dull finishings and merely OK service arent enough to offset the surprisingly delicious food. Petra is a place where diners go to eat Greek food, not experience Greek food. And that difference can seal the fate of this restaurant.
