Poor service, mgr not responsive, food poor. I used to love Russos. We went often, however my last 3 times there (all in Sunday nights) have been horrible. One Sunday night we sat there at least 15-20min, nobody ever acknowledged us. We ended up leaving since we received no service despite 2 waiters looking right at us. We asked to speak to the mgr, all he said was he was sorry and what can he do. He hardly cared and that was all the response we received. We contd to leave. Again, just last night. Same thing, over 5min before we were acknowleged. Service very slow (not a lot of customers in restaurant. I ordered the flatbread chicken sandwich. Chicken was very rubbery and lacked flavor. So disappointed in this place. We desperately need a good Italian restaurant in the area but this is not the one. I will not return and have told many others who feel the same with their last few visits also.
Russo’s is great for a semi-casual Italian meal. I’ve always loved their pizzas, calzones, soups, and salads! Have been going since they first opened. We just recently tried their brunch for the first time (since they are one of the few places in the area that serve brunch), and it was great! We had omelets, pancakes, bacon, sausage, etc. Delicious, fresh ingredients and reasonable prices. We’ve been back several times for Sunday brunch.
We have been dining or carrying out from Russos Germantown since they opened. Food and service has always been fantastic. Tonight ! I ordered take out of spice Shrimp Diavolo and bread knots. Absolutely fantastic… I would recommend this dish and pretty much everything at this location.
Everything was gross. Calamari smothered in Parmesan (clumps) Ordered the village pizza. Tasted like a pizza from a delivery place like a dominoes. Had another pizza and salad and was very unimpressed. Service was ok. But it’s a pretty patio set up with a band.
Pizza was decent, but the service wasn’t so great. I was with a party of 3 for lunch and each one of our slices was missing ingredients and our orders were cold. They didn’t bring us bread until after our pizza had arrived. It wasn’t terribly busy when we ordered and they didn’t seem to be understaffed. Never know what’s going on behind the scenes though so we’ll probably give it another try.
Unforgivably bad food and inept management. I havent eaten at Russos New York Pizzeria in awhile. Its still terrible. Russos New York Pizzeria is trying to be more than pizza. For instance, it serves some interesting salads and pastas. It also has a breakfast menu. Unfortunately, Russos misses the mark on everything that makes successful restaurants. The outcome is low occupancy. Ive never seen the place even halfway full. Part of the problem is location since many people dont think of Germantown as the go to place for dining. But after visiting several times, I understand why people avoid Russos.One of Russos biggest problems is its hit or miss service. Inconsistent service will keep people from coming back. Guaranteed. Neither the busboys nor servers put out fresh silverware and napkins once tables are cleaned. So for dinners who eat there on a miss day, expect to stare at your salads for 5 minutes or longer before you can flag down a server to deliver utensils. On some visits, I simply walked to a nearby table and grabbed utensils myself. On those days, the experience drags on much longer than it should. But on one of my last visits, the unforgiveable happened: The restaurant sold out of a menu item, namely, the chocolate cake. This wouldnt have bothered me much except for the fact that I was eating there early in the day. The waitress informed me that the manager sold all their chocolate cake supply to a single individual that morningthe supply was only a single cake. I was a little upset. Of course, the manager never came out and apologized, but the waitress graciously offered me another desert at full price. The lack of management response didnt surprise me. She is incompetent enough to run out supplies, so why should I expect an apology? Wait, theres more!! The food is awful. Terrible. Its the worse Italian food Ive tasted. In fact, its definitely on my list for worst food eaten this year. The pizza is prepared at least one day prior to consumption and simply reheated once ordered, the desserts are mass produced offsite and taste stale, and the bread is always over or undercooked. All the other menu items are garbage. Russos is chain dining at its worse. Avoid this restaurant. The inept management holds this place back. And it certainly explains the maddeningly slow service and food outages. The food is unforgivably bad. For those who want to overspend on a truly horrible dining experience, Russos is your place.
I’ve been to many pizzarias in and around the memphis area and Russos is by far the best i’ve ever had! Nice restraunt, always delicious food, and great service! I definitely recommend it to everyone!
