Pretty good. Solid sushi at Sakura. About as good as you will find in Memphis. Service was fine. Beer prices high and decor seemed cheap. Other than that, this is a go-to spot with vendors. The sushi list is pretty large and every roll I had was good. The gyoza was really good.
BEST SUSHI PLACE AROUND!!!!!!!!!!. Sometimes, I am forced to buy sushi from another resturant. SAKURA in Gemrantown is BY FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR the best. Flavorful rolls. BIG rolls and a reasonable price!
Mediocre experience. Took my son there for a birthday lunch. no food for younger kids. adult food was fair at best. sushi was dry and without good flavor. will not go back. native memphian with much better choices!
Second time I’ve went and the quality was horrible. The sushi wasn’t fresh and had a fishy smell. I won’t go back!!
AWESOME. Best sushi in town…must try the Joyce roll!
My husband and I are sushi lovers and we wanted to try Sakura because we usually go to Osaka. We ordered a house special roll (Crazy Maki), a couple of maki rolls, and some salmon roe sushi (which is our favorite). The waiter told me that the house rolls have 10-12 rolls, yet what I got for 10 dollars were 6 rolls. The salmon roe was very old: the roe was sticky and burst, and the odor was unpleasantly fishy. I had salmon roe sushi on many occasions and when it’s fresh it is supposed to burst in your mouth and the fish taste should be subtle. The other rolls were very good but we paid 40 dollars for a total of 20 something rolls put of which a few were mot fresh. Not to mention we waited more than 30 minutes for the sushi to be prepared. We’ll definitely stick with Osaka where everything is fresher and where for 40-50 dollars you get a large variety of rolls that are top quality. I won’t eat at Sekura ever again!
The sushi was great! The best that I have had in a long time!
