Perhaps one of the best Mexican influenced restaurants in America. Salsa and chips are as good as it gets and quite different than the pured sameness. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. Love the grilled chicken salad with house vinegarette. Tamales are outstanding with superb Colorado sauce and thick corn meal encased. Another outstanding dish is the red snapper. While your typical Mexican restaurant serves generic staples, this is a more upscale approach to proletariat cuisine. Diners expecting the typical may not ‘get it’.
Ok I guess. Basket of chips? Stale. Second basket of chips? Stale. The shredded beef was a little too greasy for my taste but overall the entree tacos were tasty. It was rather crowded for lunch so I may try it again.
In and out lunches. I come here often for lunch because it’s walking distance from my office. I’ve never had anything to complain about so I will always keep going back after all these years. They’re always friendly and very fast for the quality of food served.
Fantastic Vegitarian Burrito, and fast during lunch when I needed it!
I was not impressed. It is trying to be something more than what it is, which is just plain old mexican food in an outdated, over pretentious atmosphere. The Overpriced food and lacklustre service makes this place muy malo.
Service was terrible. Waiter had no clue what was going on. Food was mediocre. Save your time and money. Anywhere on Summer Ave. would be 10 times better and 10 times less expensive. Branch out Memphis.
Great Salsa!. Wise decision to name the restaurant after the best thing they serve…the salsa is great! i could eat the chips and salsa every day and not get tired of it. The margarita’s are very good there too! food is very reasonably priced and good size portions. if you’re going typical american-style mexican, i would go here…memphis doesn’t offer many good options.
