We (my wife and I) dined at this establishment this past Thursday (30 August, 2018). We dined there on Thursday evening during prime dinner time (6:00-7:00). One would expect that a good restaurant would draw quite the crowd on Thursday evenings (prime time) when most people that worked first shift get paid. NOT HERE. I guess the lack of customers should have been a warning sign for us, however it was not, as we appreciated the quietness. After arriving home and going to bed, my wife woke up at around 2:00 am (approximately 7 hours after eating) with excruciating stomach pains, a fever, chills and diarrhea. She was too sick to leave the bed, so I got up and googled her symptoms. The first thing to come up was FOOD POISONING, something to be taken very seriously. I called the restaurant and spoke to Ken, who at first answered as the general manager. I explained what had happened, and he brushed me off and rudely asked why I had waited so long (a few days) to report this. In other words, he was calling me a liar. He (Ken) then passed me on to another person that identified himself as the general manger. He answered in a rude tone, I am guessing that Ken had already told him the nature of my call before he answered. I told the new guy (perhaps the general manager) that I did not appreciate having to state my cause twice, when in fact I had right from the start asked to speak to either the general manager or the owner. The new guy, perhaps the general manager, seemed to have very little concern about what had happened, however his tone did change upon me telling him that I had nothing further to say to them, and that I would register my concerns with the Hamilton County Health Department. We called the Hamilton County Health Department and they informed us that they already had a visit scheduled to this establishment that day, and our concern would be passed on to the inspector. Dine at your own risk, because this FORMER customer has put you on notice.
Nasty. It’s been a few years since I’ve been here, but this eating experience reminded me why. Trays of severely dried out food, barely warm, and nasty tasting. Fifteen dollars for lunch, and having a hard time finding ANYTHING edible. Bye forever Golden Corral!
I see that they removed my review on this place because, it was the truth. I’ll keep posting it over & over. This place needs to be shut down. It’s expensive, the restaurant is dirty, the employees are rude (spend more time carrying on conversations by the sofa fountain than they do filling drinks), the food is disgusting, & I feel sick every single time I leave this place. Do yourself a favor and pass this place up!!!!!
Gross. This is not one of the better locations, the food is bland and watered down. The one in Fort Oglethorpe is much better, but far more crowded.
Nothing I ate tasted good here and I will never be back.
The Golden Corral is a good buffet place where you can get whatever you want want for one low price. Tell me, what is wrong with this concept? The Chattanooga location has always been clean and has a friendly atmosphere. You must experience the Saturday and Sunday breakfast here. It is great! All you can eat! And it is good, too. They also have a very good lunch buffet that is reasonably priced. Their dinner buffet is only slightly higher, but they have different items. There are daily specials, too. It is a win-win situation when you have to please a family or group. Everyone can get what he or she wants.
Tasty and fairly inexpensive for all you can eat steak. They have all the other typical buffet fare, but that’s just less room for steak.
