Good Bird!. Since Hot Chicken is now a favorite, we’re happy to report that Moore’s is serving up a really great version in Hendersonville. We were greeted and given lots of helpful information by the guy working there. Everything is cooked to order, so leg and breast quarters take 20 minutes. It is recommended to call ahead if you can. Moore’s is small with only a few tables. I take my breast quarter at level Hot. It’s more than Hattie B’s and some others. Really good for me. I’ll stay there, although they have hotter. My wife has had mild, but is ready to move up to medium. It’s all perfectly cooked, moist with a crispy skin. Really good. Several sides are available, and I particularly like the fried okra (lightly floured and cooked just right) and the slaw. Slaw is slightly creamy with a little bite to it. Good. The fries come with a spice shake, so if you’re already on your heat max, ask for them plain. They also have boneless breast, catfish, pork chops and shrimp. On weekends they have BBQ baby back ribs and brisket. But the chicken is so good, I can’t get past that. Moore’s is clean, run by very friendly helpful people and the kind of place you want to come back to.
