Barbecue B. I did not like the BBQ sauce and especially Didn’t like the ribs at all; tastes like they slaughtered an old pig. Terrible texture of the meat and bad taste; took a few bites ended up wasting a quarter of a slab; wife didn’t taste it yet.
Good Eats Nashville. This is a great place to eat and with friendly service! Not being from around nashville this place hit the spot for my barbecue craving. The sides were good but the pork was juicy and full of smokey flavor. If you go there you need to get the mac n cheese with potato salad!
Yummy. I live on the other side of Gallatin, Whitt’s in Hendersonville is our closest location, if we want barbecue we go to Whitt’s, it is that good. I was searching the Whitt sites hoping to find out how much the catering cost for a wedding we have coming up. I saw some negative comments so of course being a fan of Whitt’s— I just want my positive feedback added. Please don’t let the negative keep you from trying Whitt’s, and making the judgement for yourself. Thank you Whitt’s you never disappoint us with your barbecue!
It’s So So. First I got to say the location is pretty bad. Off the main road and rarely seen unless you drive on Old Shackle Rd. Note to the management: If you want more business; move to Main St.The wings weren’t terrible, the BBQ sandwich is so so at best. The quality can be raised dramatically.
BBQ Consistency. One of things you get when you go to Whitt’s is consistent quality. The BBQ isn’t full of grisly skin pieces and is moist and flavorful. BBQ is an acquired regional taste and where you are from generally dictates the kind of BBQ you like. Whitt’s originated from North Alabama and uses the typical North Alabama vinegar sauce as flavoring rather than slathering with more traditional BBQ sauce. I’ve been going to Whitt’s for years and it is a family favorite!
Not a fan. I don’t know much about BBQ because I’m a CA native, but I wasn’t impressed with Whitt’s pulled pork sandwich. It was just okay. I did really like their potato salad. I probably won’t be back because there are a lot of other great places to eat.
Ugh. Whitt’s is to BBQ what McDonalds is to hamburgers — a disgrace. I’ve eaten this quite a few times simply because most of my family doesn’t know any better and have picked it up for various family gatherings. I’ve never once gotten anything resembling a smokey taste from their pork. I’ve got to smother it in that vinegar sauce they include just to get it to slide down. The sides are always bland. The only good thing to get at Whitt’s is the Golden Flake BBQ chips.
