Ate here today and we were very disappointed. I am confused by all the great reviews. The ribs and chicken were both very dry. The ribs were also tough and had no noticeable smoke flavor. Food was pricey, considering it was served on flimsy styrofoam plates and we took our own chairs down from the table-top so we could eat. Baked beans tasted straight out of a can. Green beans were cooked to death and oddly sweet. We were not a fan of the vinegar based cole slaw. The potato salad was good, but again sweet. Wish we had picked somewhere else to eat.
Best Kept Secret of Jackson, TN. This little gem was discovered by accident by a fellow co-worker and has since become a mandatory stop when traveling along I-40 between Memphis and Nashville. Latham’s serves some of the finest b-b-q and sides to be had, all in an unpretentious, down-home setting. If good Southern eats are what looking for, then do yourself a favor and be sure to stop by.
Went for breakfast on Saturday and the food was wonderful and had a large selection. Everything from grits, eggs, biscuits and gravy, biscuits with chocolate sauce and breakfast meats. If breakfast food didn’t appeal to you then order the lunch type food. I posted a picture of the turkey and brisket platter. The sides are to die for! The potato salad was soooo tasty and we really liked the baked beans also. Be prepared to get a lot of food for your money. A very busy place with very tasty and quality food at a very good price. I would definitely go back again but they are not open on Sunday’s.
BBQ & Bacon…. Pulled pork is super moist and their bacon has great flavor. Do yourself a favor and stop in sometime, won’t be disappointed.
WOW. That’s some dang good smoked meat… don’t even worry about the sauce… The pulled pork sandwich must have weighed 2 pounds. .. worth EVERY penny..

Jackson’s finest. An old, local establishment, Latham’s is the finest eatery Jackson can field in its otherwise disheartening sea of chain restaurants, A mainstay of meat, a bastion of barbecue, a cathedral of carne, there is little here that will not please the palate, if you’re into real-deal down-home southern food. Just thinking about having a plate of their ribs, candied yams, and fried okra is enough to send frissons of joy down my spine. If you haven’t tried it yet, don’t delay!
