    Hit or Miss ~ You decide!. Today is our anniversary and we reviewed the menu’s of 5 different places online today before we decided where to celebrate. I started out by using Google to try and locate coupons. The JOKE of the day, is that it’s impossible to sign up for The Red Lobster Club to receive a FREE APPETIZER or DESSERT. No matter what email you use, it will tell you it’s ALREADY in use and only 1 member per household is allowed. I spent nearly an hour online and all I got was a dead end. I wished I would have used this as my guide for how the actual restaurant experience would go.We arrived at lunch and were seated immediately. We asked if we could be relocated to a window seat because we were right under an A/C vent and the guy seating us told us he didn’t see any available. Although in plain view there were several. Eventually we had to ask the server to move to another table. I had decided on the TRIO offer for $15.99. And my husband decided on The Ultimate feast for $26.99. I told the waitress about the experience I had earlier on the website and not being able to sign up for the advertised CLUB, which there is also an insert on the menu talking about this. I promise it’s NOT a valid offer anywhere I could find. She seemed disinterested in the information. I mentioned it was also our anniversary. No interest in that either. The website said there was SURPRISE dessert for SPECIAL OCCASIONS, but none was offered.My husband’s meal was absolutely wonderful and looked so appealing. My trio was a combo of Coconut popcorn shrimp, Lobster mac & cheese and maple grilled chicken. I absolutely loved the shrimp and the coconut sauce that accompanied this. I ate every bite. But when I tasted the Lobster mac & cheese it was greasy and has way too much butter in it. Not good in my opinion. I tried the grilled maple chicken and it was super, super sweet and I didn’t like it at all. I excused myself to the restroom with an upset stomach from the overload of oil from the butter. But I must mention you could absolutely make a meal on the incredible Cheddar Bay Biscuits. They are to die for. So the waitress makes her way around again and asks how everything is. I told her of my total disappointment in the meal. She offered to have the kitchen make something else. I appreciated that, but at that point my husband was almost finished and I was not really feeling excited to try anything else. The waitress sends over the manager who gives us a $10 gift card. I was not expecting him to comp the whole meal, however I would have felt much better if they would have taken my unsatisfactory meal off the check. $10.00 on a nearly $50 celebratory meal that was not enjoyed I thought was a joke.The waitress brings the check and on the check is a SURVEY at http://www.RedLobsterSurvey.com. I got another slap in the face, because I offer anyone to be able to find a link and actually complete a survey at that web address. It’s another one of those RUN AROUND sites that after about 45 minutes I still NEVER found a place to complete a survey like my receipt says. And try and locate a place online that has a CONTACT US place to voice your opinion? It’s NOT a place I could find. I also told the manager about my trouble in locating a way to download the supposed FREE APPETIZER OR DESSERT by joining the CLUB, again he seemed disinterested. So I truly wonder if anyone has actually been able to download such a coupon or complete an online survey.My recourse is simple ~ Voice my opinion to friends, neighbors and on the public review sites. Now to lend my opinion on another matter, as we were leaving the restaurant, all gathered around the backdoor outside but in view of the front exit, were the manager, 2 servers and 3 cooks all standing outside smoking. It really didn’t settle right to see everyone huddled around within view of the front door. All laughing and smoking in a huddle. The other side of the building near the employee parking area would been much better.I have to give them kuddo’s for the meal my husband had, but as for mine, it rated about a 2 out of 10. And the handling of the situation doesn’t make me want to take a chance on them again. This is twice now on an anniversary, we’ve received an unsatisfactory meal that this Red Lobster. I don’t think we will be striving for a third bad experience.
