Dirty, sticky tables. should be called acoustic brew house instead of ac. coffee house. music is good but that’s the only great thing I can say about it. my husband and I are coffee connesiurs and really got let down with this one. we have nothing against a cold one or two but change the name to something more suitable. the person making coffee didn’t have a clue how to make a latte. we had to tell her. if you are looking for a chilled scene with beer this is your place. if you are looking for a true coffee house I would go elsewhere.

Delightful. Can’t think of a better place to enjoy a brew and may be catch a tune or two!

Coffee and a lot, lot more. A very cool beer selection and prices are right. definitely a little different summer versus the rest of the year with the students out, and actually a little more roomy when they’re not around. has outdoor seating and music most weekend evenings.

Not Just A Restaurant – A Local Cultural Center. You know how when you live in a place there is always one local spot where you always feel at home, the atmosphere is as comfortable as your living room and the people are friendly and colorful and fun? That’s the Acoustic. You go there to hang out, and eventually you get hungry and eat something. The nachos and sandwiches are fantastic, portion sizes are beyond generous and prices are beyond fair. You will get real melted cheese and black beans on your nachos, not yellow goo. You will get fresh, handmade hummus on your sandwich, and sprouts if they are available. You can take your carnivore friend, your vegetarian friend, your vegan friend, and your friend who is allergic to everything and bring them all to the Acoustic and everyone will be able to find something that works for them, plus they can have a good time doing it. The common-style seating encourages people to mingle and to meet new friends, but if you want to sit alone and watch the scenery you’re ok to do that as well. They often have live music, open mic nights and lots of cultural events going on. The Next Door even has film festivals and poetry slams! There is always a good reason to go hang out at the Acoustic, and it’s hard to go there without running into people you know, or people you really should get to know. It’s a local treasure and Johnson City would be so impoverished by their loss.

Very Laid Back. I have never truly eaten here, but I have come here to listen to friends play music and enjoy a pint. It has a very unique, earthy atmosphere. The employees are a little different, but they are very kind and friendly. Overall, I enjoy this place.
