Change for the worse. After giving it numerous chances tonight will be the last time I visit Greg’s. Since it has changed ownership the quality has suffered and the staff is rude. In the last year I have had more bad pizza’s than I ever had over the 20 years I have been going there. It is sad because that was my favorite place to eat for so long.
Disappointed. $.99 for an extra salad dressing? Really? Gouging customers is a good way to lose business. And from what I have read on here things are found downhill fast. Come on – get things right.
I used to really like Gregg’s Pizza. Gregg’s Pizza Review-10/25/3013I wish this this was a good review for Gregg’s Pizza in Johnson City but it isn’t. I have eaten Gregg’s pizza’s for over 32 years and things have changed for the worse. First, don’t order from them after 4 pm on Saturday’s. It seems they are too busy after 4:00pm to care about their customers in general.I placed a Pizza order at 5:15 pm on Saturday, 10/25/2014 and was told it would be 45 minutes to pick it up. OK, 45 minutes is a long time to wait, but it was the best pizza in Johnson City for a long time and so I ran around Johnson City for the prescribed 45 minutes. I arrived at 6:00pm and pick up my two pizza at a cost of $34 dollars. OK, a little pricy, but it used to be well worth it.As I was walking out the door, the boxes seemed a little cooler then normal. When I made it to my car, I opened the boxes and found to cool pizza’s. One looked like it had been used for a frizbie or maybe a top. The slices were all jumbled up and the cheese had ran down all over the box bottom. I started to take them both back into them, but decided since it could take another 45 minute wait for another, I went on home.On the way home, I called them back and asked to speak with the manger. The person answering the telephone told me both the owner and manager was there but had no time to speak with me just then. I was told when someone had time, someone would call me back. I waited about 15 minutes and called them back. Same person answered the telephone again, so I asked if he had delivered the message. He told me he had. I asked again if someone was going to call me back and again, was told someone would call when time was available. I told the telephone operator that if the owners/manager didn’t begin taking a little more interest in their customers, they wouldn’t have to worry about being too busy on Saturday’s anymore. The telephone operator was very apologetic but in the end, I never received a call back from anyone and my family and I ripped up the bottom of the box tearing out the cold pizza, microwaved it, and went on. Oh, buy they way, cardboard doesn’t taste that well.In summary, I hate what has happened to Gregg’s pizza. In the last few months, I have noticed a significant change in the quality I had came to expect and that Gregg’s was known for. I don’t know when I will ever give them another try. There are lots of Pizza places in Johnson City. I will now spend my hard earned money elsewhere and hopefully find a Pizza that is as good as Gregg’s used to be. I doubt I will find one that was as good as Gregg’s once was, but at least it may be hot and not stuck to the box when I get home.
I spent my $ there last night.took a chance.the dough was stuck to the box.and uncooked.last time.never cared much for it anyway.but it is terrible now.and the employees r nasty looking.standing round outside.smoking.made me lose my appetite when we pulled up.I ended up @Mickey d,s on the way home.I was Hungary.and pizza went n trash next mornin.pizza plus n Jonesboro is the bomb.if u want pizza.u gotta go there.
Possibly the best pizza you will ever eat.
Pizza pie. Greg’s Pizza is the greatest! High quality ingredients on there pizza and the best cheese you could ever put on a pizza. There salads are fresh every time i order one. There meatballs are delicious and especially the meatball sub.The best thing they have at Greg’s Pizza is there all meat pizza.
Greg’s Pizza is the best pizza in the tricities hands down! I’ve been going there for 20 + years and its just as good now as if ever has been. People seem to think that just because the same guy doesn’t own it anymore that everything has changed. Well that is not the case. They still put out the same great pies with the same toppings and cheese that they have always used. The only difference I have noticed are some new delicious desserts, now they have a few women working to take your order, and the employees are much nicer than they were under the old owner. Its sad that some people try to ruin a staple in our community just because one person isn’t there any more.
