We happened up on this restaurant while driving into Johnson City. Knew when we saw the menu we had been very fortunate to find this jewel. Food was excellent; service was even better.They do not have alcohol licensing, so wine was not available. If they can resolve this issue with the licensing jurisdiction, it would be a fine addition to their offerings.
Great service, amazing food, my only regret is that we didn’t know about this place earlier! Both of the owners are extremely kind and accommodating. The menu is absolutely delicious. I like the Mad Greek a lot, I went a couple of times before I came here, but now I’ll always choose Mediterranean Garden. Everything is spiced better, cooked better, and the atmosphere is more intimate/friendlier.
Authentic Turkish/Mediterranean food. We have traveled in Turkey and other places in the Middle East. We stopped by the Mediterranean Garden in Johnson City just for fun, not expecting it to live up to what we had experienced in country. It turned out to be one of the best reataurant meals we’ve ever had. The flavors, the sauces, the texture of the rice, the way the meat was cooked, the baklava, — it was just like meals we had in Turkey. The owners, a young Turkish couple, were so friendly and open and welcoming. The cushions, big metal medallian, tassles, etc. were reminiscent of the decorations in restaurants in Turkey. Our family highly recommends this restaurant.
Amazing food and owner. Was in Johnson City for a month and sadly it was during my last week where I found this little gem. Ate there twice and I have to say the food is amazing and authentic. Tried the gyro with extra meat as well as one of the grill plates. The nice part of the day was having a conversation with the owner, Sengul, about life in East Tennessee. If the day isn’t too busy, order a cup of turkish coffee (which was great) and then ask her for a fortune reading. She’ll gladly have fun with it and talk about the future. Either way, highly recommend.
Fantastic Cuisine. The food is delicious. We (my family) love the place. Before I tried this place, I did not like Mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine, save Italian. But the owner had me try new dishes and broadened my palate. I know some people complained about her, but she is very sweet, she is just kind of shy. The hummus is phenomenal. It is an old family recipe. Everything I have tried there, I have enjoyed. Definitely worth a stop in for lunch or dinner. Also, they change their menu to cater to what guests like, which I think is the hallmark of an excellent restaurant. It is my favorite casual dining experience in the Tri-Cities.
OMG GOOD. OMG good… not only is the food the best I have eaten in a long time, its cheap too. The young male waiter was super super nice… I look forward to eating here many many times. Great places to go A+++
