Disappointed in service. All I can say was the wait staff who waited on us must own or be related to someone who does because they were so put out by just having to take our order. The sushi was good but it was ruined by the complete lack of civility. I don’t expect overly perky fake cheerleader service but at least act like you might be grateful someone came in to patronize your business. Won’t be back.
Chicken in vegetarian noodles. First of all they were out of noodles and said the cook had to go to the store(aka Kroger across the parking lot) 10 minutes after we had ordered( only two other tables were in the restaurant). The server said it would be a little bit longer, but it was really 15 minutes. We were only there for 30 minutes but it sure took that long for our lunch noodles to be prepared, we had them box it up because my husband was about to be late for class. Here’s the kicker, we’re vegetarian, so we both ordered vegetarian meals, get home to eat after waiting ( which I get, I’ve been a server for 8 years, sometimes you have to wait) but when I went to enjoy my meal I discovered many tiny pieces and a couple of quarter sized pieces of perfectly golden brown chicken. They obviously used the same grill to prepare my veggie noodles as the chicken and because they were rushed they didn’t care to notice OR they always cross contaminate and ALL VEGETARIANS BEWARE! They’ve since refunded our money but I will never eat there again. And I’m sure they won’t miss us; since the atmosphere is so unwelcoming we rarely are there anyway.
Mediocre. Nothing special. The meal I got came with onion, beef and rice and that’s all. Some zucchini, mushrooms or carrots would have been nice. The crab rangoon was pretty good, though.
Good, but not great. I ate there a few weeks ago. I enjoyed the food I got, but wish it had more vegetables. The onions in my entree didn’t seem to be cooked very much. The crab rangoon was very good, however. I’d eat there again, I just wish my entree came with mushrooms or something, it was mostly just onions. I see potential here, just needs a little more to it.
What is going on with Miso????. I have been a customer of Miso since it originally opened stopping in at least monthly for sushi. Yesterday I ventured out with my children. Ages 2,3, & 10. We decided to stop and eat at Miso as we have done several times in the past. After being promptly settled into a table the staff totally ignored us. We sat for more then 15 minutes while other people were sat & waited on to be totally ignored by not one but three waitresses. Needless to say I was livid. Granted I have three children but they are well behaved quite kids. It was humiliating to be sat down and have numerous waitresses stare you down just to ignore you. I knew non of the waitresses and always tip well. After enduring the stare downs for this length of time I got up with my children and ushered them into my car to leave and take my family elsewhere
Terrible Sushi. I’m new to Johnson City and thought I would see what kinds of sushi the area has to offer….I made a bad choice. I couldn’t even finish it. I had to throw it away and order food elsewhere. Such a shame, I was hoping for good sushi.
Terrible service, mediocre food. I don’t usually write reviews but my family had such a bad experience I believe I should warn people. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the completely inappropriately dressed female wait staff. The black shorts they wore were so short that their butt checks were actually showing. It seemed inappropriate since this is a sushi restaurant, not Hooters. The second thing we noticed is that the entire staff looked miserable. I never saw any of the staff smile during our entire visit. This could possibly be due to the fact that the very unhappy looking female manager seemed to be making everyone’s life miserable. She ,by the way, was dressed appropriately. I wanted to ask her why she was not wearing shorts with her butt checks hanging out since clearly she thinks it’s okay to have her female staff wear them. Getting back to the actual review, our male server was unfriendly at best. I didn’t want to even ask for anything because he seemed bothered by us. It might have been because we had a three year old with us. However, my three year old was well behaved during the visit. Two of the people in my group are young adults so maybe he assumed they would be bad tippers. It possibly be that he just treats all customers rudely. Whatever the reason the service was terrible. I don’t really rate a restaurant based on service. People have bad days. If the food would have been good I could have lived with bad service. Unfortunately the food was not good….A Chinese buffet has just as good sushi as this place and is a great deal cheaper. The soup that comes with all meals tasted like beef bullion broth. No one in my group was able to consume it. The rice and meat was okay but certainly not worth the $14 dollars it cost for the box. Everyone took their leftovers home but it will just end up in the trash. At the end of the meal the server split the check for us, looked unhappy about being asked to do so. He literally stood at the table and waited for us to pay. I’m getting my money for the bill together while he is standing next to me… He didn’t give two of us our change back. Not a big deal except we had already gotten his tip ready so we had to deduct the leftover money from the bill from the tip we had already added up. All the adults at the table were servers so we felt obligated to tip appropriately. Servers have a tendency to be guilt ridden when we don’t. We ended up leaving $11.70 but all of us were upset that we had to leave that much for such poor service…..In the end Miso Teriyaki House will not be somewhere any of us eat again. I’m sure the unhappy looking management won’t care about that. They should, two of the people at the table are in their early twenties and eat out very often. So they not only lost their business, but also all their friends business. My advice would be to skip this restaurant. Go spend your money somewhere else. Oh and if you don’t want your kids looking at butt checks hanging out of booty shorts I wouldn’t go there anyway…..
