Wow! This cafe was so cute and cozy. It doesn’t seem like much until you walk in, but right off the bat you’ll see smiling faces and warm people. It’s a wonderful atmosphere and the interior design is simple/chic. The food was amazing. I didn’t expect it to be so delicious, but it was more than that. The portions are huge too! I ordered a large plate, and there was so much food that I had to force myself to finish. It’s definitely worth the drive and effort to try the food served here. I highly recommend One Acre Cafe. Not only do they have great service and food, but they also have a great mission to help feed those who struggle. I loved the theme and the food, but it also made me feel great to know that the donation I paid to purchase my meal also helped someone else (and/or their kids) eat!

The food is very healthy and delicious. It’s very warm atmosphere and friendly staff/volunteers are nice and pleasant. Great place for lunch that gives back to the community. Price/donations are very reasonable and if you round up to the next full amount it helps pay to provide for others. If you cannot afford to pay you can volunteer to work for your meal. Highly recommend to everyone.

Delicious Food Served with Heart. Had a lovely lunch at this cafe, where you can pay it forward while you enjoy great food. It was difficult to decide what to choose from the menu because everything was appealing. Selected the roast beef sandwich with horseradish aioli, which was very good. My dining companion chose the turkey tetrazzini and finished every bite. Atmosphere inside is charming, and the staff and servers are really friendly. Would definitely return.

Good Food, Good Cause. The concept of this cafe is that if you can’t afford your meal, you can volunteer for it. If you can afford to pay a little more, pay it forward to help someone else eat. All the servers, bussers, dishwashers, and prep cooks are volunteers from all over; there’s always a mix of college students, church groups, and individual volunteers here for a good meal or just for fun. Small plates are $5, medium $7, and large $9 (drinks included), desserts are only $1 more, and because the servers are volunteers, there are no tips! If nothing else, the food is FANTASTIC. I could live off their tomato basil soup – it is SO GOOD. I eat (and volunteer) here regularly, and I’ve never had a bad meal. Between the price, their community commitment, and their good food, this has become one of my favorite restaurants in Johnson City.
