As a traveling business man who loves steak I eat frequently at steakhouses all over the region this is what I have to say…First of all and most importantly, if you’re going to advertise as a 5 steakhouse your staff needs to be 5 star quality. My waiter did everything he could to be helpful but it’s almost as if they gave him no training or knowledge. He knew nothing about the food I was ordering…where it came from, how it was prepared etc etc. second, if I was the owner I would fire the sous chef or head chef instantly, they do not know how to season or prepare a steak. The cook on it was right, thank gosh, but the steak was only seared on top and bottom and was pan seared and I was told it was grilled. There was no crust on the steak and completely unseasoned. I chose asparagus as my side and I’m pretty sure they buried it in coals and picked the biggest oldest spears they could find and then put no seasoning on them and threw them on the plate. They gave me saltines and warm yeast rolls from Kroger. To top it off, the cut of meat I received is not what is advertised. I know 30 day dry aged steak and this was not dry aged for 30 days. I can purchase, prepare, and cook a better steak from Kroger or any other grocery store. Please don’t make a $60 mistake like I did.

I’m 63 years old and I practically grew up with The Peerless. I’ve been going there all my life. Every visit there brings back fond memories. Delicious, sizzling, juicy steaks and prime rib. And if fish is your thing, this is the place. Cold, flavorful salads; I love the peas and celery. I especially like the creamy feta dressingwith oil and vinegar on the side. Oh, and those sweet, hotonion rings! I’ve never tasted better. Wonderful, elegant atmosphere with that haunting, old-time music from the past–just what I like. Gary Kalogeros is doing a fine job with it, following in his father Jim’s footsteps. I wish there were more restaurants like The Peerless. It’s truly one of a kind. Guess that’s why they call it The Peerless! (Ibelieve the restaurant is looking for this review.)
