Don’t waist your time. This place has tumbled since the new owner took over. The BBQ pork didn’t have flavor and was extremely dry. The once famous Twice Baked Potatoes were even disappointing.

Went here on recommendation from family in Knoxville. Ordered the plate with sandwich, twice-baked potato, drink and when asked if I wanted slaw on the sandwich, requested on-the-side. Had enough bbq on the sandwich, that I could have split the meal with my husband. My only complaint would be that the meat was a little dry and not really tender. However, I raked 2/3 of the meat off, added both the sweet heat and regular sauce and ate it with a fork. Then added sauces to the rest of the sandwich and it was all good. The potato just tasted like baked mashed potatoes with pepper but it was good. I was told the sweet tea is really sweet so I ordered half n half (half not sweet) and it was really good tea! I gathered this is an old time local favorite from the older crowd in the restaurant and the amount of take-out. This restaurant isn’t far from the speedway so is probably a favorite with race fans.

We had carry out lunch today. Small pork sandwich, fries and tea. Fries don’t travel well….can’t blame Red Pig for that. Everything else was perfect! BBQ sauce is great! Pork was perfect! Even the bun for the sandwich was good! We also ordered some sour slaw…a pint….OMG it’s so so so good! Tea is delicious! Really I just can’t say enough good about this place!
