Terrible service. My girlfriend and I went to Aubrey’s last night for dinner around 8:30. The hostess was very nice. Our server was terrible. His name was Alex M. He was not very nice and seemed rushed. He brought us our drinks and wasn’t even sure if they were the right ones. Our food was great. We never got refills for our drinks. When he brought me the check he threw the book down on the table. Then as I was counting out the money he stood over me. I told him I wasn’t ready to pay yet and he got an attitude and walked away. I could see him watching from around the corner. I left him $6 on a $29.06 check because I bartend for a living, but he didn’t deserve 20%. I was generous. His attitude and service was worth 10% if that.
Good Food. Food is excellent and mostly made in house. Anyone that says otherwise obviously has no idea that all the dressings and sides, desserts, and even the Alfredo sauce are made from scratch in the kitchen.
Still a Favorite. This continues to be a favorite restaurant of mine. If I want good, homemade american food, this is where I go. The value is good, and the freshness of ingredients is where it should be for a good restaurant. I always order the house salad with my entrees, (My wife and I share that) and then I always order the chicken breast, or sometimes the NY strip. Once I got a poor cut of NY Strip, and they quickly replaced it with a perfect one. Try them if yo haven’t already.
Average Southern Food. It’s not bad. Squash casserole I haven’t seen on any other menu recently. It’s really good. There’s a big variety to to keep your whole family happy but it’s just a leg or two up from fast food.
What Service?. We arrived for dinner around 5:15 and were seated in the dining room. There were ~4 tables occupied. We sat for 10 minutes while 6 servers stood near the kitchen and would not make eye contact with us. We got up to leave and told the hostess that we had never been waited on. The manager overheard us and offered a coupon for our trouble (we refused). You might go and get lucky, but Knoxville has lots of places to eat with servers who care a little more than those at Aubrey’s.

Good food, service is just ok. They have really good food but every time we go there it seems the service is just sub par. We continue to go because the food is so good, the service has never been really bad but it seems like they just have alot of tables to take care of so you will wait a little bit. I suggest the chicken salad sand or the pot chip app. Both are fantastic!
