Not sure why i have never written this review. This is hands down some of the best pie in the world. I40 by far my favorite but everything i have tried is awesome. I’m not a apple pie guy but it looks amazing and is said to be delightful. My least favorite would be the strawberry, taste was good but textures didn’t work with me. Never been a crust guy but this is one of those exception with Buttermilk Sky. Form the look of the building down to the wooden cutlery. The feel and smells will get you thinking about your favorite pie and memories to go with. Great to pick up a few and share with friends for after dinner dessert or just a pie date. I do prefer to buy the small pies as they seem to just have better balance and all around flavor over the full pies. Plus you can get a variety and everyone can decide what their favorite is for next time.

The pies here are phenomenal! I have tried multiple pies from this place and they were all excellent. The only complain is that they are a little pricy, but still worth it.

No thank you! If you were actually from the south and had tastebuds you wouldn’t spend your money here. People kept saying this pie is amazing so I tried it. I feel sorry for these people because they must be used to store bought pies and their grandmas probably can’t bake! Save your money and make your own!

My OH my! Thanks for the pie!. Such a sweet little place! Cute decor, but the PIE!!! The crust is what EVERYONE in my house can’t get over. I’m a really good cook, but pie crust has been my nemesis. No longer, we will simply visit Pie In The Sky. Local, fresh, and wonderful! This Chicago girl is hooked!

Not as good as Grandma’s. Designer shops like this are all the buzz as Knoxville grows more and more. You can easily tell when you are in a hip pastry shop/ bakery: the goods are over priced and underwhelming to anyone who knows why they are overpriced. I feel the target market for Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop is 25-35 year olds with disposable income, living away from home, and a desire for something that tastes like what Grandma used to make. I say go to Kroger and buy your baked goods young man. With all the money you will save in a very short time, you can book a weekend flight home to Grandma’s house for the real thing.

Great Place!. A friend and I stopped in about two weeks before the grand opening. We got to sample the Buttermilk pie (which we were sceptical about, having never heard of such). To say we were impressed is a bit of an understatement. We went for the mixed pack (4 for $16) of small pies. I got a couple pecan pies, a buttermilk, and a pumpkin. The pecan pie is to die for – my other half and I couldn’t share one (kept tugging the plate back and forth). The pumpkin pie is the best I’ve had in town.I’ve been in 2x since, and enjoyed both experiences, though I see them working through growing pains each visit (as you’d expect). I’ve since tried the chocolate meringue and the caramel pie – both were similarly excellent. I’ll definitely be back!- Side note – the ice cream (at present) is made by Cruze Farms!

Excellent. So rare to be able to get such good quality pastries…. their pies are delicious and still warm… they cook in front of you, and you see them preparing the dough. Just try it and you will come back on a regular basis:) Their ice cream is also yummy, creamy, fresh and tasty. The pumpkin pie and the pecan pie are as good as if your southern grandma had cooked them for you with all her love.
