Gross. I’d had this place before and it was okay. I suggested it for my boyfriend and I tonight. I get fried rice anywhere I go, nothing different tonight. This was awful. It was gross white rice with some random veggies thrown in. If you mess up fried rice, fail.
Solid in my opinion. Definitely not the best Knoxville has to offer in Ameri-Chinese but it is pretty solid and cheap. It’s a lot closer to me than szechuan garden so I eat here at least once a week.
Vegetable Fried Rice was a JOKE – should have cost 50 cents.. For 7 dollars, I got a container of PLAIN, UNSEASONED, UNFLAVORED, UNFRIED, rice that tasted worse than Uncle Ben’s, with about 1/4 cup of vegetables, 3 slices of mushrooms, 5 tiny sprigs of broccoli , a diced slice of zuchini, and what looked and tasted like FROZEN vegetables, as in 10 cubed carrot pieces, 10 lonely pale green peas and minced onion..Absolutely NO seasonings, nor a drop of oil to be tasted.I have mixed feelings about this place, as their main dish, like chicken in garlic sauce, is excellent., but skimpy. You aren’t going to get full here.Their hot and sour soup had barely anything in it, like 2 tablespoons of veggies, only thin broth. That was a joke, too.

More like Chef Has Been. The food was pretty terrible. I ordered a hibachi plate. It was very bland. The shrimp sauce was very sad as well and there was no ginger sauce. If you’re coming for the hibachi experience, expect to be disappointed. There aren’t even hibachi grills. The servers were inattentive. We had to ask for drink refills and when I looked around, everyone’s drinks were empty. It looked like everyone was having the same experience. My meal tasted like sadness and soy sauce.
Not so good. I stopped by and picked up a take out order for lunch. The egg roll was greasy and soggy. The hot and sour soup was neither hot or sour. The kung pao chicken that I requested extra spicy had no heat to it at all or any chili peppers in it. Also two thirds of the container was filled with rice only a third with chicken. Disappointment considering all the good things I’ve read about it. Guess I have to keep looking for good chinese in knoxville.
Just Okay. Pretty standard for what you might think of a small mom and pop restaurant. Nothing too fancy here. My won ton soup was not hot and by the time I finished it the soup was at best room temp. My entree was very hot. Some sort of roast noodle. Not bad but a little oily. Oddly, my plate had several quarter sized chips on it. They should probably throw that one away. Plus there were only one other table at the time. I think they should have been more attentive to that. Speaking of attentive, no one ever came back to check on me to see if everything was okay after serving me the lunch. Just to give me a check to pay. You would think you could take care of your customers when it’s not busy. Or even if it is busy, right? I’ll probably pass on this place for a while.
