Rude guests + Useless Mgmt = No More Daves. The short and ugly version of our last experience is my wife and I were at the bar with a friend enjoying lunch when a large group of adults and children were seated in the bar area. The adults loud conversation was only overcome by their kids obnoxious yelling and screaming. After about 45 minutes of a very annoying experience, my wife complained to the management, whose suggestion was for us to move NOTHING was said to the party. Our friend left due to the screaming kids, which ruined his lunch experience. After an hour of the screaming children, my wife asked the party to shut their children up. This caused several of the men to start yelling repeatedly you shut up you mother f?ck%r, which I am sure was heard throughout the building. At least they used English to communicate. Obviously at this point we were done with lunch and the manager parked himself between us and the Middle Eastern party, and refused to address the party of abusive adults and out of control children. Welcome to the Middle Eastern Chucky Cheese….
Famous Dave’s is terrible. The ribs are pure bone and whatever we had that was on toast was pure fat. It honestly makes me sick to think about it. We just left there and I really hope to never see that place again.
BBQ. It’s been a few years since I’ve eaten at a Famous Dave’s but when I saw one on the way to my hotel I knew that’s where dinner would be. I did the St. Louis combo (ribs and wings…..it’s always hard to pass on wings) with broccoli. The sauces were as great tasting and varied as I remember and the service was spot on. fricksworld.blogspot.com
Chains. Why eat at a chain when there are so many great indigenous bar-b-q places in Knoxville? Famous Dave’s is pretty much the same here as it is in Little Rock. It’s bar-b-q if you’re in the mood for a lot of different sauces to top your meats, but if you’re in the mood for high quality bar-b-q, try elsewhere.
I went here for my birthday last year with a large group of people and i tell you the service was absolutely great! Our server was very polite, she didn’t mind to actually talk and get to know her guests. Nobody had to ask for anything she was already two steps ahead. Our food came out promptly and correct and was delicious. I was extremely satisfied not only by the food but by how our server treated us especialy with it being a memorable day for myself. She personally wished me a happy birthday and thanked all of us for coming and was very sincere. I was extremely satisfied with the food, atmosphere and service!
OMG yessss. We love Famous Daves for BBQ. They have an awsome selection of sauces, the ribs are really meaty and not too mushy or salty, but perfect in when you take a bite you are left with a perfect smile errr half moon shape in your meat. The mac an cheese is pure frikin awsomeness( love the peppers) the slaw is amazing. Service has always been super fast and friendly.Been there prob 10 times, never had a bad meal.We miss the place now that we moved outa state Dave! put some in Georgia man!
