Small Salad Bar for the Chain. I totally love Jason’s Deli because they use organics and post allergens/veggie options for ease of ordering. Their soups always taste like high sodium canned crap though, never very good. I just get the salad bar, which has increased in price recently. This particular location has a very small salad bar compared to other Jason’s delis I’ve been to.. The lettuce is not as fresh as it could be sometimes.. and things go empty for too long. I like the one by UT better.

The food is good, for a chain; the quality is on par with Panera or Chili’s although one thing that I appreciate is that many of the food choices are all-natural or organic. I like the outdoor seating option and the free ice cream, too!

OMG!!. UPDATE: WOW – it really makes a difference as to what staff member one gets. Passed through Knoxville again and had such a good experience with Jason’s Deli we decided to order another dinner. First person we spoke to didn’t know if they delivered to our hotel. Put me on hold for several minutes. A rather smarky dude took over. Didn’t know where the hotel was, said there was a 45 minute wait for delivery and a $20.00 minimun. Hmmmm, wasn’t last time and we had our food in 10 minutes, piping hot. Asked me what else I wanted – told him I didn’t have a menu – had no suggestions. Asked about dessert – got a smug response. When I said maybe we should just forget about it and drive somewhere he got nicer. Our order arrived about 35 minutes after the call and was all cold. Cold pastrami is not all that good. Too bad because we had such a great experience the first time. Guess who won’t be back the next time we pass through. We’re just passing through Knoxville and too tired after a long drive to find a spot to eat. Called Jason’s Deli to see how far away they were from our hotel. Bonus! Less than a mile and they deliver. The order taker said the sandwiches weren’t that big – WRONG – both the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches had about a half pound of high quality meat piled high between excellent rye bread. These sandwiches rival any I’ve had in NYC or Chicago. I highly recommend the sandwiches at this deli!

VHAT! NO KNISH!. Hello again, So It was another lazy day with nothing to do in beautiful color changing Sylva NC, I said to myself, Self, I’m hungry LET’S RIDE. So I Googled Deli’s in Knoxville Tn. I really wanted a Pastrami sandwich and a knish. I came up with a couple of restaurants I pointed my bike in the direction of TN and off I went. Never being in Knoxville I didn’t know what to expect. It’s a BIG BEAUTIFUL CITY. Fast paced, lot’s of traffic, big buildings and a lot of exits on I 40. When I checked on of the Deli’s one of the places I came up with was Jason’s Deli. I really didn’t want to go there because I though it was a chain store. But when I got to Knoxville I got lost and I just happened to ride past Jason’s. OMEN right. So I parked, dismounted and went in. I looked around, It was nice. The salad bar looked good but I was after Pastrami. I was on my way to the restroom when I encountered a service assistant that was not looking where he was going. So what. After washing up I went to the counter looked around was approached quickly by 2 very friendly faces, Great. I asked the for a pastrami sandwich on rye and FF ( no FF there). I also asked for a knish , ( no knish there ) But, a lady who obviously worked there, possible the manager, heard me and said it’s going to be hard to find a knish in Knoxville, We talked. I got my food a Pastrami sandwich and potato salad. No pickle, bummer. The sandwich was Ok it was a little Fatty. The potato salad was good. While I was eating the same unidentified lady, possible the manager came up to me asked my how my food was, GREAT SERVICE. She also said she Googled Knish in TN. and they were no where to be found. That was nice of her to do that. I was done with my lunch so I mounted up and started the 3.5 hr ride home. All in All Jason’s was a good place I’m glad I went there. I do recommend you go there. Thank you the employees for the help.
