My wife and I have been here several times. The place is always clean, and the staff are nice. First I’d like to say that the best description of K-Town Tavern would be an elegant sports bar. If you’re looking for great food (not pub fare) this is a unique choice. If you want to relax with a beer and watch the game, this is also your place. You can get burgers, or steak. Being in the restaurant, I get the feeling that they are trying to be both elegant and sporty. Personally, I am not a sports bar kind of guy. I like dining here because the food is great and the drink selection is outstanding. I just can’t get past the fish and chips……. I order it every time. The fish is cooked just right. My wife orders something new every time and is never disappointed. What puts this place over the top is the drinks. There are very few places away from downtown that you can get 16 year old Lock Stock & Barrel or Angels Envy Cask Strength. The bourbon selection is really top-notch! In my opinion, the bartender on the top floor, Mr. Russell, makes the best Old Fashion in Knoxville. He’s consistent with the drink and presents with the same great taste every time we visit. I like it with the JD Rye or Templeton Rye. I should add that the homemade pizza is really good as well. Until recently, this used to be a fine dining restaurant. K-Town Tavern is a recent renovation but the restaurant still has the same owner, and it’s dedication to serving great food remains prevalent.

Against my better judgement, ignoring the review and based on the number of cars, I gave this place a try. Nothing has changed from previous comments. We asked for seating that included backs on chairs. We were escorted to a table with backless chairs. The gent seemed aggravated when we re-stated our request (he acted like he hated his job). Burger was warm, fries were barely warm. Guest with me had chicken, was tough and dry. Service was really slow. If you are going to drink, they have lots of beer choices, but I would leave before eating dinner.
