Good food, service sucked!. The food was good, however, service could have been better. Our server(I am assuming that she is the owner) was rude and it took forever for her to fill up my glass.

Slow and slower. This was the worst service ever and the food wasn’t very appealing. I was quiet disappointed to say the least; here on a recommendation for Korean food. Guess I should wait until I go home next time

First time and impressed. I went for lunch, and had Goon Man Doo (fried dumplings) with a nice soy dipping sauce, and Dolsot Bi-Bim-Bob (fried egg, sliced beef, and vegetables over rice on stone bowl). Both were excellent. The Bibimbob was wonderful, and the hot stone bowl crisped the white rice where it touched the bowl. It was accompanied by an array of side dishes with small servings of: sweet potato, pickled cucumbers, bean sprouts, kimchi, and a vegetable that might have been lettuce or possibly an asian green leafy vegetable. There was a hot red dipping sauce that was reminiscent of ketchup with some sort of umami-enhancing ingredient. This was my first visit to Kaya, and I was impressed. The restaurant is attractive and the Montvue Center location was built just a few years ago, so it still looks very new and well taken care of. I found my server to be attentive and pleasant. I would recommend that you know your Korean dishes before going there, as the menu is text-only. There is a picture stand at the entrance, but it only has photos of ten or so of the dishes. I plan to read more about other Korean dishes and go back to try them at Kaya. I especially want to try the items that are prepared on the gas burners built in some of the booth tables. A new favorite!

Great food / Horrible service. My wife and have been here several times and the food is consistently good. The service on the other hand is consistently horrible. The older Asian lady who serves acts mad at the world. Once we asked for more rice and she pointed at the small bit that we still had and walked away.If knoxville had another Korean restaurant we would not go back!I noticed some of the other reviews mention this same lady. I think if the owner would address this problem it would be a great place to eat.If anyone reads this and knows this lady or the owner, you should have them read the reviews…

I’ll try again. I stopped in this evening to give this a try. Co-workers had commented on it and as I had never tried Korean food before, I figured it was worth a shot. we got bulgogi and pork with kimchee. Of the two, I very much preferred the pork. The bulgogi was good, but I think the pork was a better product with far superior flavors. My other half agreed. I’d definitely give the place another try, and I’d certainly try another Korean meal!

My grandmother was full Korean so we tried out this place when I was younger. I went back recently and it was still as delicious as it was then! Great food!! Highly recommend it!

! The prices for dinner foods, especially galbi, are a little high if you don’t understand how Korean food works (that’s the best way I can explain it) but it is definitely delicious. There’s a lunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays, so if I have the opportunity to try it during my short stay in Knoxville, I’ll post about it. I had the bulgogi lunch special, and it came with a few assorted banchan (side dishes), remember to ask for lettuce to wrap it in though, because bulgogi is often eaten in small lettuce wraps. Overall, my dining experience there was incredible.
