Expensive, rude, and gross. I came here tonight and got the buffet and a soda. I ate one plate of rice noodles and chicken, and my bill was literally $20, and the food wasn’t even good. Tasted like average takeout. I was furious. Asked why the crap it was so expensive, they said it was because they had oysters at the buffet. I didn’t even eat the oyster or use the hibachi grill. Absolute crap, total scam, never going back.

If you not been here before I would say go and try it.. This is the best places to eat sushi me and my husband go there very often and for the price we think its great we go there to just eat sushi sometimes i will get something of the buffet but most of the time we stick to the same thing i would bring a group or even a family here. The staff is really nice.

Fantastic. Wow… some reviews of how horrid it was but man, our experience was fantastic!Green tea was the best I’ve ever had, brought to my table in a cup, hot and perfectly brewed. Everything we had off the buffet was delicious and I hesitated to order sushi cause we were in a bit of a rush but in the end I had too cause I like good sushi so much. The sushi while not the absolute best I’ve ever had was definitely very very good.Yep.. it was $16 pp so be sure its worth it to you… it was worth that to me!

After reading the reviews I decided to try this buffet. We got there at 4 and was informed it was still the lunch buffet. A couple that was with us asked if they could get the dinner buffet because they wanted to order the sushi and have it brought to the table as they do for dinner but not lunch. They were told that they could do that. My husband and I stayed with the lunch buffet because we don’t eat very much sushi. The buffet food was cold even the fried rice they brought from the kitchen to add to the buffet was cold. So I didn’t eat that plate and chose founder and steak from the hibachi grill, the only thing they had to add to the hibachi plate besides your choice of fish, steak, and chicken were mushrooms, onions, and zucchini, not even a sauce to add.My hibachi plate was greasy and lacked seasoning, there was no salt or pepper on the table. The salad consisted of huge chunks of lettuce and cucumbers, nothing else at all except for a thick ginger dressing. The sushi bar had about 6 plates that even had a few pieces of sushi in it. There were about 10 plates completely empty. I asked if they were going to add more sushi and they said no so I requested a philly roll, and my husband requested a crunchy crab roll. Both rolls were good but out of all the food we tried that was all we could stomach. My husband got up to help our son at the buffet and the server took his sushi plate and he wasn’t even finished with it. I would have rather had a fast food burger. I graduated with a culinary degree and have my own catering business so as my professional opinion this buffet was horrible.

Came in late, still got good service.. Great sushi, even late. They were nice enough to bring out fresh food when I came in shortly before closing. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it.

Buffet is Buffet. Have been here several times for lunch. The basic buffet offering on the bar plus a hibachi grill if your so inclined. The quality of the food is pretty much mass prepared as are most buffets. I do not do Sushi but that is available as well. The deserts always seem old and dry so they are not prepared there either. In my opinion the price is a bit high but sometimes you just crave quantity and some cold peel and eat shrimp.

The worst buffett in US. We live in VA and drove 2 hours to Knoxville Zoo. We had to shop at Sunrise Asian store so we decided to eat close to Sunrise Store. Kids were hungry so buffett is the best option for our hungry tummy so we picked Makino Japanese buffett. Food looks delicious but when you try to take a bit it is horrible. I had my 5 year old with me and my friend had her 13 year old a 4 year old girl. Poor kids, they all spit their food they said it’s yuckky. Although me and my friend had the same bad taste we forced ourselves to eat a little, we had to pay for it anyway. There we go, time to pay for the food, holy crap, it was 17.98 bucks for each adult and 7.98 for each kid, are they joking? I rather go to Red Lobster or Cheddar for the price. I don’t mind paying kinda pricey as long as food is okay. Peep, stay away from Makino Japanese buffett, it’s not worth of your money. Nevahhhhhhhhhhh..I forgot to add, if you want to try Makino, make sure you ask for the price first, they won’t tell you, that’s their trick you better ask first so you won’t be surprised. It’s not worth of your money, I won’t recommend Makino buffett to anybody. never.
