I took some friends to Nama’s a few days ago. It had been awhile since I had been there. First the prices are outrages. One roll was $16.00. Which was just average. I have had rolls just as good for half that price on many occasions at other restaurants. So lets do the math. $16.00 plus tax 1.48, plus 20% tip $3.59 = $21.00. Really $21.00 for one sushi roll that contains approx. 2.0 ozs of tuna and 10 cents worth of rice and cucumbers so around $150.00 dollars per pound for tuna. I may not be the smartest person in the world but I know when I am getting ripped off and I will never be back. I can go to most restaurants and get a sashimi grade tuna steak meal for the price of one roll.I also order the fish tacos which once again was a nice size plate of good slaw with about four bites of fish. I don’t really know if this restaurant is struggling but It will be based on the food we received. I won’t be going back.
My go-to spot for sushi in Knoxville. List of gluten-free items and gluten-free soy sauce available upon request. If cost is a concern, check out their happy hour specials — can’t beat their happy hour sushi prices! Service is always top-notch.
I went to Nama after several positive recommendations and came away highly disappointed. The sushi was prepared slovenly and was of mediocre quality and taste. Normally I wouldn’t mind too much, but for the price this level of failure is unacceptable. I will not be returning and advise all that will listen to do the same before your expectations are dashed and your wallet emptied.
Best quality sushi in Knoxville! On Monday & Thursday half off sushi night. Excellent service and sushi! Highly recommend! (Bearden location is significantly better than Downtown)
Best sushi in Knoxville. Not super authentic but tasty!
Mediocre overpriced sushi. Don’t get me wrong, the sushi here is decent. The price is way too high for the quality, however. I assume I paid for the trendy atmosphere. If you are craving sushi, this is an okay place to eat, but don’t get your hopes up.
Best Sushi in Knoxville. Delicious, great sushi, exceptional service, awesome wine list!!
