Good…ish. The Brownies and Congo bars are great (the Rocky Road bar is my favorite) – indulgent, delicious, and huge without being so rich they sit in your stomach like a rock afterward and make you feel sick. I’ve had the homemade bread and granola that they make – also delicious, fresh, homemade. Only thing that has been a disappointment to me was their cookies. The chocolate chip honestly weren’t any better than Kroger (and since chocolate chip cookies are Baking 101, when I go to a Bakery, I usually expect that if nothing else is spectacular at least the chocolate chip cookie should be way above average), peanut butter wasn’t anything special either.
Liked the cake. Bought a chocolate cake for my son’s birthday. The taste was amazingly good. I have seen in many other birthday parties the kids normally waste cakes. Here they came back for second helping. We are very happy and will definitely go back again.
Not Worth the Time to Stop At.. If this is considered as a good local bakery Knoxville has very low standards. I found this bakery to be a sad commentary of what a bakery should be. But then Knoxville does not seem to really have any bakeries to start with.
Rita’s Bakery is THE BEST. Gingerbread people are so delightful. You never know how they will be dressed – football uniforms, hula skirts. Every day is a surprise. Lemon and vanilla poundcakes melt in your mouth. they are so good I have to mail them to my dtr. in NYC
Best Thumb Print Cookies. So delicious! Perfect for dinner groups, showers, birthday parties, etc.
