Wicked good. Amazing food. Period. Very authentic. Always great.
Good but pricey. My lunch ended up been somewhere around 17 dollars for a roll of sushi. I was still very hungry after eating. It looks like the sushi chef is Japanese as far as I could tell from his way of speaking. The only sushi place with Japanese guy making sushi here in Marysville.
The best sushi I have eaten anywhere. Presentation, taste, and everything else is just perfect. This is also the first food review I have ever written, but they deserve it.
Anaba Sushi Maryville. Enjoyed our visit to Anaba. The Sushi Chef is cheerful and informative. Anaba has both authentic sushi/sashimi offerings, and Americanized (cream cheese… ack) sushi rolls. Their calamari salad is delicious, as is their seaweed salad. We had several types of sushi and all were fresh and well presented. They had Kona kanpachi, a very young yellowtail, which was something we hadn’t had before, and it was good. Been looking for a new home base for sushi since we moved to Maryville, and this looks like it.
Not what you would expect for the price. All in all I would probably not go back, and I would not recommend unless you just want to try it. The Miso Soup was lacking greatly in flavor (it was bland) and the onions were very under cooked. The Hibachi Teriyaki Chicken had a good flavor once you fish it out of the overbearing amount of sauce which killed the flavor. Fried rice and vegetables were okay. The Hibachi Steak (medium-well) was exceptional in flavor. Extremely tender and very flavorful. The service was not so great. After telling me that my gift card was expired (even though there is NO expiration date on the card which was purchased 6 months prior), It took quite some time to get my food. I called ahead about 20 minutes to order. There were 2 walk-ins that came in after me who were taken care of long before I was attended too.Thoughts: Worth a try, but don’t expect a wonderful experience.
Not eating there anymore. Well, my first time eating at the restaurant was a mediocre meal at best.It wasn’t clean enough, tables not bussed, floors, etc. and not enough staff and my meal was just o.k. I had some kind of Tofu stir fry. It wasn’t memorable enough obviously. The second experience, co-workers brought me back some lunch since I could not leave the office. All I wanted was a salad w/ ginger dressing and an order of California rolls. I was brought back (no fault of my co-workers for not looking in the bag) was a simple salad which is fine but the Cali rolls were just avocado rolls. I maybe could have gone with that BUT every piece of avocado was black, through and through. Not just the tip that’s most exposed to the air. Also, these were the worlds smallest rolls and done so sloppily, a 5 year old could have done it. Total laziness on the part of the person who gave me that rotten avocado!I called them and the lady who answered the phone and apologized but it’s not like I could really do anything about it. Not worth the gas to go back down there. She said I could mention this conversation the next time I go in there and they would give me a free Cali roll. Well, I’m not going back so it doesn’t matter. I just told then to please check their other avocado rolls and not serve it to anybody else. Mistakes happen but that was pure laziness! I’ll stick with Lemon Grass…….they rock every time!
The best sushi I have ever eaten. Whitney was so much help, friendly. Awsome food, good price
