Decent spot. They make some things here in house like the burgers, fries, and the soups and they are all solid. I have only had good customer service there. A good value for lunch.

Much improved since mid 2014. Hubby and I TRIED to eat here a while ago but never got anybody to take our order so we left never to return. However I recently was asked by the owners of Hot Rod’s 50’s Diner to give it another try. They have partnered with Flaherty’s owners and are working on turning the place around. The menu has been given a makeover thanks to Hot Rod’s mastermind chef. So we tried it. And we went back, and back again. Our first trip I had the Shepherd’s Pie and hubby had Bangers and Mash. The Shepherd’s Pie was AMAZING! I was surprised that it was made with real lamb. Hot and savory, best tasting Shepherd’s Pie I’ve ever tasted. The Bangers and Mash were good as well. We had a small issue with our appetizer showing up at the same time as our meal, but the server immediately apologized and removed it from the check without us even saying anything. The next time I had fish and chips and hubby got the corned beef and cabbage. Again the food was WONDERFUL. We again had a late appetizer which was immediately removed and the owner came out to apologize personally and gave us a gift card. They really seem to want to make this place work. Every time we’ve been there the owner comes around to check on everybody and if it looks like you’ve been sitting too long without food, she goes to hunt it down. We hadn’t even ordered yet and she was asking where our food was. Haha. This is now one of our favorite spots!

Disappointing. Drove to Maryville from Indiana to take our mother out for her birthday. Previous experience was delightful. However, between the erratic service, lukewarm and tasteless food, and loud classic rock, we were very disappointed. Monday evening’s food oddly resembled microwaved weekend fare. My mom and I ordered corned beef and cabbage that was presented dry as a bone and we had to request broth to make more palatable. Sad.

Not a pub atmosphere. I had been hearing ads on the radio for Flaherty’s and just had to try it.We (my wife and I) visited Jan 18, 2014.Unfortunately for us, we were there before the live music which doesn’t start till 8p.m.The music that was being played through out the restaurant was adult rock. SORRY, that is not an Irish pub.We were surprised at how bright it was in there. Not only were the lights on but the windows were uncovered letting too much light in for a pub.The food; I ordered Shepherds Pie and my wife ordered Grannies Vegetable soup. The Shepherds pie tasted good but was a rather small portion. The pie was served at a low temperature. I was OK with it but when my wife tasted it she said I should return it to be heated. Her soup was fine but my wife said it was more like something we make at home.I had Guinness at $5.50 a pint OUCH!.So, all said and done, we drove about 35 miles from Knoxville to go to Flaherty’s.The food was average if not slightly below. The prices were rather high; tip and all, soup, shepherds pie, 2 Guinness, 1 iced tea and 1 piece of cake, $47.Atmosphere, nothing to write home about.Sorry, not worth the effort for us.

I have been to Flahertys many times and the the food each time until recently has been superb. This last visit my food did not taste the same nor was the presentation of my food nearly as nice. Something has changed and I don’t think I will be returning.

I heard Flahertys head chef left. I will miss the great food he made. It’s a shame because we were regulars there.
