I use to go to lemongrass before. I’m not a fan of it any longer. Sure the prices are somewhat descent but it a Chinese place that’s trying to be way to upscale and fancy. I have other options if I want good Thai and sushi ,that doesn’t make me feel like I might get kicked out if I’m using the wrong fork.
Rude management, overpriced.. My fianc and I use to visit this place. At the time is was the only decent Asian food around. One evening we went in and there was another couple in front of us. We were told it would be about a 20 minute wait. Shortly there after a group of four came In without reservations. And since they knew the owner they were set at a table for four while two groups of two were not. Won’t go back after being treated poorly by the management. If you want better Asian food go to New Asia at 1901 Sevierville Rd. And if you want great Sushi go to Nama in Downtown Knoxville. If you know the management at Lemon Grass it is a good place for you to go. If you don’t then I wouldn’t recommend the rude service that you will get. Food is okay but not worth the pricesPros (Great Food)Cons (Only two pieces of shrimp in order)
Used to love this place, but now…. The food does not have the same fullness of flavor and presentation as before. Even the ingredient choices don’t taste as good. I went with a group of family/friends that also echoed these sentiments….Service was excellent though. Thai, sushi, and chinese dishes were all underwhelming
I’ve been to Lemon Grass several times and I just don’t get why people are so impressed with it. I’ve been at lunch, I’ve been at supper, I’ve had Thai, I’ve had sushi. I just didn’t find the food to be that good. I think the price is a bit high for what you get too. I mean 4 bucks for a cup of veggie broth with two mushrooms is a bit ridiculous. The Sushi was not impressive at all (tasteless).
Decent Food & Service. Was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service was. We went on a Friday night and the place was packed out. After reading reviews regarding poor service I had some concerns that we might encounter a problem. Again, we were surprised by the level of service and the quality of the food. We are big fans of the Taste of Thai in West Knoxville. While this place does not have the quality of food as TOT, it is decent if you are in Maryville and want Thai and don’t feel like making the drive to West Knox.
Service train wreck. Food is pretty good and up to our last visit we had good service. Our last visit there however was a nightmare. We took our visiting family there for Easter. We sat and watched 3 other tables that arrived after us, get served their food before ours came. Our server was inattenative and was non existent for over 20 minues When our food finally came (over 30 minutes later) it came out in shifts and our family could not eat together. Two of the orders were incorrect and it took another 10 minutes before I had to go find our server to let her know. There was no apology- a complete meltdown of service. Total failure and with family in from out of town our choice to trust lemongrass with our Easter dinner was a inexcusable mistake. We will never return.
Mixed performance. Do not let the looks fool you in to passing on this one. The interior is intimate and quiet with a helpful staff that always has a suggestion if you express interest. The dinners are consitently done very well and the half price wine and dinner for tow $20 special is a bargain on Saturdays. Lunch for some reason falls short of the dinner experience so save your appetite for dinner!
