The location and the decor of this place are fun. It’s an old brick JC Penny’s which has been converted into a pretty cool spot. The bar area is modern and pretty nice. However, the food here always seem to taste bland and lacks any real flavor. So on one hand you have a pretty neat spot but on the other they serve boring tasteless food. Because of that we only pretty much only go here to grab a drink before going somewhere else.
Shrimp Charleston. The absolute best shrimp and grits you will find.08 Mar, 2015I’m appalled to see such a bad review. My wife and I love this place and are constantly impressed. The service has never been an issue. I understand this may not be the case for everyone at all times, but our personal experiences have been satisfactory. The food is fantastic and fresh. Great place and great food.
Disappointed. I just had my second experience at Sullivan’s, and I am unimpressed, sadly. The signature salad is fantastic, but the steak, potatoes, and service are sub par. The potatoes were bland with no flavor. Steaks should be seared on the outside then set aside at a lower temp to cook to desired texture. Mine was barely brown and still bleeding. I ordered it medium rare and expect a spill when cut into, but I’m not sure the chef knows how to properly cook a $30 steak. I’d rate it a 5 out of 10.I ordered a Shiraz redwood wine that one of my four servers forgot to bring to the table until 30 seconds before my entree. I prefer my wine to rest for 10 min before I drink it for flavor, so I didn’t drink it until I finished eating. Also, my water was never refilled and was empty by the time my food arrived. Upon my second visit, I dined alone. Watching the server at another table made me jealous. He explained to the 50-or so- year old couple the specials and soup options and spent the time to ask them if they had questions about the menu… My server just asked what I wanted, as if in a hurry. I was there to have a salad again since it was so delicious the first time, and decided to order the meatloaf as well. The salad was about a quarter the size of my last salad. I was so sad that I ordered a full sized one to-go. She only checked on me one time (by the time I was finished eating). The meat loaf was not good at all and I ate about three bites of it! The only thing I did request was extra pecans on my salad. There were no extra pecans and instead, extra craisens. But I never had the chance to question it since she never came back until I was finished with the entree. I will not return to Sullivan’s. *Over priced for the low quality*Sub-par service
Long time customers. My husband and I have been customers of Sullivan’s in Maryville for several years. When we decide to go out, Sullivan’s is always at the top of our list. I enjoy the filet and he likes the Voodoo burger. The service is gracious, consistent, and it is one of the reasons we keep coming back. The food is always good. I enjoy a good filet and it is the best in Maryville. We always see friends there. It’s a great gathering spot. Kudos to Tim (manager) and Eric (at the bar). We always enjoy Amanda as a server and tonight we had a new server who was excellent. Great food and good people keep us coming back.
Wife and I Love the Northshore Salad with the warm chicken and all the goodies that come with it. It is a must try!20 Jan, 2013Awesome food. The north atlantic salmon is a family favorite. The biscuits, mashed potatoe with pot roast gravy is delucious. A must eat is the jalopena grits! A touch pricy but worth the splurge!
Cooks could use a taste pallet. What Happened to the Sullivan’s we once had that had so much success in Maryville. You changed your recipes and not for the better. My husband and I had a few bad meals in 2011 and vowed not to go back, 2012 we stayed away. 2013 rolled around and we decided to try again. Server was nice enough but not a good listener. From the no lemon in my water to rice instead of potatoes to a dried Hawaiian chicken with no Hawaiian sauce! When asked why I got chicken without that yummy sauce.. She said oh, this cook makes the chicken this way, we don’t have that sauce anymore. Funny, IT’S STILL ON THE MENU!,, guess that’s why ..IT USE TO BE standing room only. Great atmosphere, no managers in site. 🙂 it really is sad, it has so much potential if only it had the proper cooks and management skills.
GREAT FOOD. ME AND MY WIFE EAT THERE ABOUT EVERY WEEK, WE LOVE IT.
